Default Interesting Dealer Story.

My uncle wanted to buy the Z. Since he knows I'm getting one, he basically told me to work everything out, and once done, he'll just pay it all off at once, and done deal right? So I walk into a dealership, and I ask to speak to a sales rep. So a sale rep walks in and asks.. "How may I help you sir?" and I replied "I'm here on my uncles behalf to look for a Z and customize it, he is backed up, but will be stopping by tomorrow if everything goes well".. The sales rep looks at me, I could tell he was holding back a laugh. He then takes me to his desk, and shows me a list of people, and says "All these people paid for the car upfront in cash". He gives me a look as if I was lying about my uncle. He then begins to talk about another car, the Nissan Spec-V, and tells me that might be more in *my* price range. I look at him, and tell him clearly "I'm not looking for the Spec-V, I am looking to customize and get a quote for my uncle". He then stands up, and says "I'm sorry *SON*, but I don't have time to waste, I have customers, come back with your uncle". This completely made me furious. I left, called my uncle on my cell phone and let him know what happened. My uncle then stopped by in his porsche, spoke to the sales rep, and basically told him how he was in the market for a Z, and wanted the Track, Fully Loaded. The rep then becomes very polite (my uncle told me this, I wasn't present). My uncle told him that not only did he just lose a 40,000 dollar deal, he will be reported to his manager, as well as NNA.

So I guess out it all turned out well, and I am now in search for a full loaded Track for him. I'm just glad that ******* rep got what he deserved. I'm sure the manager was upset

Good Job your uncle did. That just goes to show, "you can't judge a book by its cover", as cliche as it sounds. That sales rep will hopefully learn his lesson.

Sorry, but I have to side with the salesman. You don't waste time doing business with a proxy unless you have confirmation. You could have easily put your "Uncle" on the phone for a moment just to confirm his legitimacy. It all sounds pretty bogus anyway.

Thanks for the laughs RICKY! Although I may not have treated you quite so harshly I too would have asked to speak directly to the principle before I spent another two seconds with you. If you aren't signing the check your just blowing smoke little man.
