1 ticket in the 7 years I've been driving. It didn't go on record. It was first day of senior year of HS and I was driving in (I commuted into school in Minneapolis from suburbs). Anyway, everyone who lived southwest of Minneapolis took the same route to school. Little known to many of us they had made one of the turns illegal right around the time when we went to school (one of those 'no left between X and Y times'). Well, it was close but I didn't notice the sign and made the turn about 4 minutes after the time had started. There was a line of cops waiting for me....they pulled over about 20 people from my class (of 100 people) that day. We all complained and got out of the tickets (helps when a classmate's father is a federal magistrate).

Got pulled over the other day in my Z for doing 46....in a 45. Everyone else on the road was going 30 and I had the right lane all to myself going northbound on US1 so I drove the speed limit. Cop lit me up before he clocked me, then he clocked and realized I was the only one who wasn't driving wrecklessly slow. Let me off

And for the starter of this forum...thanks for making my insurance rates higher. I hope you don't get any more tickets because you're the reason that even the responsible drivers under 25 have to pay out the *** for insurance.

Being a Habitual speeder it's pointless to complain when one gets a ticket. I've gotten 2 in the last year.
1st one was the first time in 10 years that I'd been stopped. 65 in a 50.
2nd was totally bogus. 75 in a 65 cruse was set at 70!

Oh-well it happens

Now there's a betting pool at work as to when I get a ticket in the Z. If I play my cards right I'll have enough $'s for some more mods!

BTW I'm 33 & usually only speed on the highway when it's "safe" and never more than 12 over the posted limit, they usually let you go as long as it's not much more than 10 over.

I dont know how many people try to beat red lights, but I wish more red lights tried to beat you.

Regardless if you are in or out of school, knowing how to write and spell properly is part of life.. you know, living in America? Being able to communicate with people? If you dont care, then its ALL good dawg, you'll just end up not making much sense.

Ignorance is bliss.

Yeah, that's such a great attitude to have.

You quit school, and you don't care whether or not people understand you when you try to communicate with them. So what's the point of posting? And, you're making just enough to support your needs. Just wait until some extra expenses pop up.

You're a prototypical example of what's wrong with a large percentage of this country's population. Oh well. You'll learn sooner or later, the hard way.

To paraphrase a famous saying,"It's better to be silent and have people think you are ignorant, then to open your month and remove all doubt."

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's kind of good and bad that a DB 350Z stands out... If it only didn't stand out to the cops. I know a ticket while driving my Z will be inevitable.

It never ceases to amaze me how lucky some people are to be driving a car like a Z at the age of 17! Unfortunately, I usually end up hearing stories of how these kids end up wrapping their cars around a telephone pole.

As a licensed driver for over 20+ years, I can tell you that I've driven over the speedlimit alot--- I still do. But you have to remember that I've got years of driving experience under my belt while you are relatively inexperienced and driving one of the faster cars out on the road. I worry that it's kind of like giving a child a gun to play with.

As for speeding tickets, I've had one in my 20+ years of driving. How do I avoid them? Some simple rules:

1) When ever I was speeding or thinking about "racing" someone
on a public street, I always asked myself whether the risk was worth getting a ticket-- this will eliminate about 75% of the dumb things some people do (like race a 350Z against a Honda Civic-- you know how that's going to end so why do it!??!)

2) Remember that a radar detector is not a replacement for common sense. If you drive a high-profile car (yes, the Z falls into this category) remember that the cops are always on the look out for you anyway. Keep that in mind when you decide to do something (like going 100+mph) that brings even more attention to you...

3) Lastly, stop thinking solely about yourself. You may not care if you put yourself in the hospital or morgue, but think about the innocent bystanders that you might take with you-- they are someone's wife, daughter, son, brother etc.

Slow down or take it to the track...
We'd like to see you make it to 18.

P.S. Just so that you know that I understand how tempting things are, some of the cars I've driven in those 20+ years have included '78 Camaro, '81 Pontiac Trans Am. '89 Mustang GT Convertible, '98 & '02 Nissan Maxima SE and now my 350Z.

i went 4 years w/o getting pulled over. then i move to this county right next to Charlotte (supposedly gives out the most speeding tickets than any other county in NC) and i rack up on 4 in one year. sucks ***....they all range from 68 in a 55 to 73 in a 55.

I am 46 and have been driving for 30 years. In that time, I have gotten around 45 tickets (I have lost exact count). Of those 45, probably about 40 have been for speeding. Of those 45, less than 10 have ever gone on my driving record through luck, a good lawyer and/or driving school. I have gone to driving school so many times I could teach it. BTW, 45 tickets but NO accidents. It is possible to drive fast and to drive well, but sadly very few people are ever able to accomplish that.

Keeping it simple and short . . .
I've had my share of ticekts but WTF is wrong with people. Yeah it might be cool blowing through a red or going 100+ in an unsafe area, but that one day you destroy someone elses life, your life and others will also be over.

Put your ego away and listen.
