How many of you DO NOT HAVE Tire Feathering?
Hubby's car = 2003 Enthusiast with 26,000 miles and NO FEATHERING.
My car = 2005 Enthusiast with 3,500 miles and NO FEATHERING.
Being that the Z is a sports car, and taking into consideration the low treadwear rating of the OEM tires, I will be completely happy if my tires give me 10 -12 thousand miles.

I have 6,000 miles on my 2004.5 Roadster. It has some feathering you can feel, but so far noise is pretty minimal. Interestingly noise is at 40 - 50mph range instead of below 30 mph that most complain about.
I'll update when I get closer to 10K and see if it has gotten worse. If I can get 15K out of them I will consider myself considering the number of people who have had to replace tires in the 5 - 10K range.
Definitely glad to hear some people are getting 20 - 30K out of tires.

I have an 03 with 12K miles and so far no feathering. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I really don't want ot have to fight with Nissan. I have always had good luck with all Nissan products. Had 2 Sentra's and a 240 sx. Never any problems.
Forgot to mention I am stil onthe original Potenza's and have the OEM 17" rims.

This is really encouraging to get reports from all those that never had an issue.
I wonder why some people have such problems and others don't at all. If it were really a design defect I would think everyone would have the problem!

I have an '04.5 and I specifically made sure that I got one made at the plant where the G35 is made vs. where all the 03s and early '04s were made. I only have 8k miles but no sign of odd wear yet.
At the very least the '04s seem to last longer before the feathering sets in. Having read a ton about the issue before buying my car, I know that a lot of people w/ '03s had feathering pop up in 3k to 5k miles even.
When I looked at the car I knew this could be a problem but even if I have to replace the tires every 15k miles I think the Z is a great value compared to any other car I could have gotten.
