Default LeMans color

I ordered a Lemans back in January and since then have seen numerous pictures of the color, from VandyZ's to the more recent delivery pics.. Today I had the opportunity to see it in person, and when I did, my heart sank. It looks nothing like the concept car that I saw in Atanta, and nothing like the pics I have seen. I was hoping it would be a deep rich color, but I found the color dull and flat...VERY brown in color. It looked very much like the top of a pumpkin pie, or maybe even a light corkboard color.

Granted it was in a showroom, but I cant imagine that the color changes that much from indoors to daylight, especiually considering that the showroom have very large ceilings, and windows for three of the walls.

Anyway, I'm a little bummed right now. I was a diehard lemans sunset fan based on the color of the concept car and pics I had seen here. In person, to me, it looks like the brownest, flattest pictures I have seen online from people's shots. It looks like the Nissan press pics.

Can anyone offer some condolences for me? Does it really change that much in direct sunlight? I'm actually considering trying to find another car so I dont have to buy this color. I cant believe that after all this waiting, Nissan could screw up so royally on the color.

If you have 15000 to 20000 $ you can get the sonic orange color that was on the show car. Everyone that has seen my LeMans Track think that the color is draw-dropping awesome. Humm, let me use your eufamisms, Red looks like a tomato, White looks like a bathtub, Blue looks like my suede shows, brickyard looks the the top of a plum pie, and Black looks like the rear end of my dog. I wanted Sonic Orange also, but am more than pleased with my Lemans Track. Maybe the matching Brembos, and Rays wheels help make it look better.

Default Le Mans Sunset

Sorry you don't like it. I took delivery of my Le Mans Sunset on the last Saturday in August and I like it a lot. Gotten nothing but good comments from everyone. While filling up with gas, I have had people stop and take pictures of the car. I think it looks great. No, it is not Sonic Orange, but I think Nissan did a good job on it.

The Lemans Sunset is an awesome color. It isn't a single color. Depending upon the lighting situation, the car looks completely different. The attached image was taken at dusk. If you notice, the Z looks completely different where the sun hits it compared to where the shadow are.

Default It is not the color I would choose, but

It is an incredible color. It has to be seen in the sun to appreciate, not under flourescent lights in a showroom. You won't be driving it in a showroom, so make sure to see it in real light before deciding you don't like it. I love mine!

And complete strangers have said "What a beautiful color!"

It looked good to me - I saw it on a slightly cloudy day on a delivery truck and it really caught what little sun there was. If you absolutey hate it see if your dealer can trade for an unsold preorder. Color is really a personal preference thing

I'm still waiting my Lemans Touring myself. I know there are at least 2 here in Houston. I'm kinda worried about the color myself. As far as pics go...I like what I see. I still haven't seen it in person. I had a co-worker tell me "I saw the car that your getting yesterday" I say..really!? How did it look?. "It was niiiiiiice....but, you didn't get that ugly mustard color did you?" So, needless to say, I was like "mustard?, its more like orange/copper." She say.."Oh man, It was ugly." Yeah, she pissed me off too. Anyway, its all a matter of opinion. I like it from what I've seen and I couldn't give a rats *** what other people think. I wanted something unique, that 's what I chose it. I wanted CSilver too but, I knew the majority would pick it. And also, I'm starting to see other cars with similar colors. I've seen a Dodge truck, Ford something sport..a four door truck, a cadillac, and another I can't think of now. I guess I just have to wait and see. I've been waiting since January, so god please don't let me be disappointed.

I saw the lemans parked in a service garage at the dealership, and I was a bit disappointed as well. However, it looks quite cool in the daylight pictures.

Default must see in sunlight

With those of us bold enough to pick such an off color and go against the grain of conventional colors your decision was a good one.

You must see the car in person in direct sunlight to truly appreciate such a color. It is true that in dark and low light situations the car does tend to take on a orange/pumpkin color to a degree but it still has a glow to it that will surely make you smile every time you look at it.

Now is not the time to back out of your decision to get such a bold color.... go with what you originally fell in love with and you’ll never look back. Why settle for a color that will blend in ?

I am not a photo expert, but that last picture looks nothing like the actual color. Get it in the sun, and use the right exposure (I think that is what you call it) Here is one that shows the depth of the color. And this is still in the shade, looks even better in direct sunlight.

I ordered it too! Saw one and also was not terribly impressed but it was just a quick viewing of one passing by.

I have a collection of about 70 LeMans photos that you can see here:

What this tells me is that is truly changes with the light! I'm keeping it but I know it's not the show car color but very unique.

Default Have my Lemans sunset two weeks now

I wasn't sure like many of you before i got it! RELAX Your gonna love it !When Ipicked it up there were three new Z's on the showroom floor and the other were silver light and dark which looked great but everyone at the dealer including a lot of customers went nuts over the lemans color. All they said was as soon as anyone walked into the showroom they went right up to the lemans and hardly saw the rest. When you see that commercial on TV about heads turning it really is true! my car attracts so much attention I really think the color is half of it.I was driving on a main route and saw the reflection of the car and the color in a window and I realized how good the car looks driving down the street.I will guarantee any of you that ordered sunset lemans that after you have your car for two weeks you wouldn't even think of having it in another color.RElax you choose the right thing !

Im waiting an extra four months to get lemans sunset because I decided to pass on the silverstone touring I had originally ordered. My wife had initially nixed me getting "the orange one",as she called it.Than I found this sight way back when and when vandyz pics of the lemans car were posted she changed her tune after seeing them.So I passed on my original preorder from feb. that came in late augaust.Went and looked at it in person before passing and decided it was worth the wait to be unique. Not concerned at all with my color decision

Just to post a followup, I picked up my car a few days ago. The color is everything I hoped it would be, and its amazing how different it looked inside. It truly does look different every time yo u see it. I went into a store, came out and the color had changed. Its so strange, and so lovely!

Thanks for the replies.

I'm glad you liked it. You had me kinda worried. I should be receiving my Lemans Touring 6mt by the end of the month. I still have not seen it in person so it'll be a surprise when mine shows up. My friends and family are as excited as I am...maybe more.
