I finally got to see a brz/frs the other day for the first time in person, I have been overseas a while. Looked pretty good from what I seen. Didn't walk up to look inside though, hate it when people eyeball the inside of my car.

Looked at the BRZ/FRS, but for $25K plus the usual dealer BS "scotchguard, UV protection, wheel locks, etc plus tax it would've been closer to $28K out the door, and for that kind of green there are LOTS of much nicer, cherry low mileage sports cars available.

Also (call me old school), I just couldn't get past the bicycle sized tires on them, they just make it look like an economy car......

I think the BRZ FRS would be a good car choice, maybe in a couple of years when you can ****** one used for around $15-20k. In today's world, 200hp for an enthusiast vehicle is just a bit lacking. Granted the car is light and handles well for its size, the car needs to be pushing around 250-270 to be competitive for its price point.

I'm really surprised at the 370z comments, especially coming from a Z forum. I LOVE my 370z. I think it put the power right where the 350 needs it, the top end. Doesn't die off when you rev it like the 350 (I owned an '04 350 so I assume the HR is a little better). They also got rid of the strut tower brace in the back. I know that sounds like a small detail, but if you actually use the trunk it makes a huge difference.

I'm holding out for a http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-Maserati-Coupe-Cambiocorsa-Coupe-2-Door-4-2L-/171046759879?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27d32e6dc7 when I get tired of my Z. You can get a 180MPH car for $20k these days.

The 370z is a glorified grocery getter, not a sports car. i had a chance to test drive a 350z Nismo and a 370z Nismo and the 350z felt like a better all around car, it felt like they were looking more for comfort and looks with the 370z rather than performance.

Solution; wait for frs turbo or z35
370 destroys the 350z in 1/4 mile times stock vs stock. Just searched, and found stock base model 7at doing 12.9's and 6mt doing 13.1's.

That's a big improvement, numbers don't lie.

I don't think anyone here is disputing that a 370 is faster then a 350. But no, it's not a HUGE improvement. It's minor at best. Anyone with a Z, HR or not, seems to agree that paying over double what a 350 cost just isn't worth the minor upgrades.

That's where you're wrong, I've owned both a DE and an HR and it's night and day difference, suspension, interior, acceleration, speed, everything. Like most of the guys on here are saying, it's not much of a difference between HR and the 370.

I like the 370z but I agree with the minimal improvement comments. But then again, since the 350 was great, how can you improve perfection? When they add a twin turbo to have a more even power delivery then I would get the 370. For the price of a new 370 you can get a used cayman, an M3 or even a 2005 masarati. Hell I've even seen 911 turbos near that price range.

Wouldn't a base model v-6 Mustang smoke that car easily?

I'm just naming what you can get for that price not what you can't afford.

Parts and maintenace is way to expensive compared to a Z.

I can see why there is so much hype with the BRZ/FRZ, but I could never see myself paying money for one. I would rather buy an HR 350z or AP2 s2000 for cheaper, $25k+ for a 200hp Subaru/Scion just doesn't sound too appealing to me. Biggest selling point with them to me is the interior and supposedly amazing handling

BRZ/FRZ looks good but a bit on the feminine side. Kind of like a Scion TC
BRZ/FRZ handles good from what everyone tells me, but lacks power.

Good grief guy. I'm just naming the cars you can get for that price not including maintenance. Some people can buy a 25k masarati and maintain it. You all can get one and maintain it as long as your not reckless with how you spend your money. Anyone who is reckless with their money will lose whatever they have regardless. Oh yeah I forgot to mention you can also get a 90s NSX for less than 25k too and even a legendary Mark IV supra. All are just as and more thrilling cars to own and drive.

I had the same experience with the 370. Couldn't wait for it to come out. I was all ready to throw my money down, but when I drove one, I was disappointed - it was barely faster than my 07 HR and the blind spot is horrific. And they deleted the holder for my driving sunglasses. Yes, you do sit up higher in it because it shares a chassis with the G37 - just a bit shorter in length, but every bit as tall at the belt line. They did some tricky optical illusion body work to hide the taller chassis. Don't get me wrong, I like the 370, it just didn't warrant extending a new loan for not much gain.

I'm afraid the z35 will follow the same route of lots of mony for lackluster performance compared to the cempetition.

Oh, and all those Challenger/SRT/Charger vehicles suffer from serious weight penalties. You'd think a 400+ HP v8 would be insanely fast, but anchor it down with 4500-5000lbs of body mass and it defeats the purpose.

I weighed a V6 Camaro at the truck scales and it weighed 4400 LBS. the V8 would be a bit heavier. That's one thousand more pounds than my porky GT. Fail!

If I buy another sports car, it'll be the C7 vette...

My two cents
