You mean lose not loose.

Did I say I was a pro driver? No, but I do race my car, and things like weight, center of gravity, rigidity matter to me.

What I am saying is arguing that a roadster is better than a coupe in regards to performance is just stupid.

How many guys on here race a coupe, and how many race a roadster?

Not to mention if you ever decide you want to race your car on the track, a roadster is REQUIRED to have a roll rage, a coupe does not.

This is why I said enthusiasts should get coupes. It is a better platform to start with if you want to go the performance route.

If you want the car to look nice (which IMO the roadster is ugly as hell with the top up) then get a roadster.

I am not saying one is better than the other, I am saying that it comes down to what you are looking for in a car.

Default Roadster all the way!

Hands down, the Roadster is much better looking than the Coupe (IMO). The vote here among several of my peers is unanimous... Put the top down, set it next to the Coupe and the Roadster wins by a long shot in appearance. I agree that Chads photo of his Roadster tells the story right there. Of course the Coupe is nice looking too but looks too much like "just another G35". No offense to all you Coupe owners out there, just my opinion on that.

Coupe or Roadster, both are still a couple of the hottest looking cars on the road.

I really like the lines of the 350z coupe, but nothing is better looking then the Roadster with the top down. I receive compliments from strangers all the time when the top comes down. Also the Roadster has a real trunk compared to a hatch.

I would have bought the coupe if you could take the top down.

Hands down? Then why did Nissan sell WAYYY MOREE coupes than roadsters?

Do people just like "uglier" versions of cars?

And I have never heard of anybody confuse my car with a G35 coupe. If anybody does then they don't know about cars and can also confuse my car with a GTR

Me too. Last time I checked the 350Z was the first convertible Z car.

240Z, 260Z, 280Z, etc all coupes not roadsters.

I thought you were talking about the 350Z in particular. A "true" enthusiast? I bought the car because I liked the look and how it drove. I didn't realize I needed to pass a history test to enjoy my car.

You've been looking like an *** all along. Clown.

EDIT - took a quick look into it. Looks like the 2000 was a successful predecessor to the 240Z, nowhere does it say it was the "grandfather" of the Z car. It was just a successful sports car that made Datsun realize they could compete in that area of the market.

Saying that the Datsun 2000 is the car that Nissan used to create the 240Z is dumb.

Yes they are both sports cars, but that is where it ends.

The Datsun 2000 was created to go against cars such as the Fiat and MG. It was a inline 4 cylinder FR layout.

The Z has always been a 6 cylinder car, and up until the 350Z was only available in a coupe layout.

If anything, the Skyline is closer to the Z than the Datsun 2000 is. Both were 6 cylinders at the time, and Nissan created the Z to have an affordable sports car that was under the Skyline price tag.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Nissan Z is a completely separate car from the Datsun 2000, and of course the Skyline.

Alright dude just enjoy your heavier, slower, more expensive Z. Should have just gotten a Sebring with the qualities I just described. Hope someone doesnt cut your top anytime soon, that would suck and be expensive to fix

It is much more expensive to cut the top off of a coupe than to replace a rag top.

If you care about performance and want the best 350Z for performance, you get a coupe instead of a roadster. No arguing with that.
My roadster is fast and actually performs very well. Maybe one day I'll take it to the track but even if I do I will be racing against my own time.

If I race a coupe and they win by a few tenths of a second I can't say it would matter to me. I don't really race other people. I just drive like I'm fu--ing insane and the roadster hugs the road.

I do love the coupe too though. I'm a big guy and I can't drive a small two seater and be couped up. I fell in love with the 300ZX when I was 16 and I wish the 350 had the t-top.
