Default Lemans Touch up Paint does not match the car

No, thankfully I did not need it for the car yet.

I built my Tamiya model back in January and painted it White, since that was my first color choice. When I switched to LeMans I was dying to find that color in a touch up paint so I could paint the model to see what the color really looked like. Well, today I bought another model ($27) and the touch up paint ($4.50) and painted the model. Well, it looks nothing like the car sitting in my garage! What gives? Is it the gray of the plastic underneath? I did two coats of paint. It is much more gold and reddish copper than the actual color of the car. I just hope I won't actually need to use the touch up paint some day, because it is not even close. Any ideas why?

Unhappy

Don't use up all the touchup paint on the plastic model. Believe me, you'll be needing it on the 350Z before long.

After checking out the link below, it's a wonder that anyone with a recent Nissan can keep his sanity without the 3M Scotchcal paint protection film.

The last post sounds suspiciously like an ad.

No, not an ad.

Just a friendly bit of advice, my friend.

In fact, I really think that we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg with this Nissan paint issue.

I'm not in the least bit affiliated with Xpel, Invisiguard, Stongard, etc. Hell, I'm not even an installer.

You might need to add primer first. The color might be too dark, so try and put on a white primer. Sand down then try the touch up paint. Might work better.
