Default Learned something new about my z today!

when you see a damn log in the road move the f**k out of the way. My dumbass sees one today and decides to straddle it cause I didn't think it was that tall. Boom it hits something underneath and I hear scraping for a half mile. I pull over and the undercarriage liner is dragging the ground screws missing everywhere. So went to dollar store and cut most I could off leaving only two screws holding it in. I kept unscrewing with my hand it seemed forever and the damn screw didn't do anything. The ******* who sold me the car kindly left me a tire but no jack. I lost my debit card so I can't get a jack and banks and garages are closed at 6 in the evening. And than it hits me. I'm not driving a mustang anymore so now these roads are going to rape me day and night.

Lol I guess it's called splash shield or something. Connects to your bumper to prevent stuff getting to engine? Anyways it's broke I cut most off and it's dragging bad till tommorow. Any one know best place to find one or just got to autozone or something?

I suggest the closest Nissan dealership or a salvage yard and hope there's a z with the engine undertray still on it.

Maybe you need something a little stronger to protect the underbelly of your VQ...

I tried to straddle something with my daily driver and ripped my under plastics off.

They really only keep dust and dirt off the engine.

Thanks. I never had to deal with an under shroud before so I never knew what it was. And the log wasn't able to be avoided as a 16 wheeler was coming toward me in other lane. Any one know how much it might run a shop to put it on? I was thinking bout going without one but I know there's a bunch of rocks that will prob jump up and hit engine bay. I seen some one ebay an aluminum one for 175 but I think that's a little high IMO.

I found this which equals to 180 when shipping is included. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...d=161078212167

Seems pretty good idk. Does my350z have discounts with certain vendors? I know American muscle had one after 20 posts on a forum I used to be on. If zmotor sport or whatever has a discount ill get there but it says on this ebay hardware is included. Watcha think?

If you're looking to pinch pennies you really chose the wrong platform

I'd choose the Zspeed quality over eBay bs anyday

Correction: Chad is right, Zspeed does come with standard hardware at no additional cost. I previously thought that they only offered the stainless steel hardware for an additional $15.

Ok so it's gonna be taken off tommorow. I'll have to drive a couple days without the shroud how much damage will this cause to my car?
