I think you guys are missing the point. The OP has freely admitted he got a break he didn’t really deserve and is using it as a wake up call. As in he won’t be doing anything like that again.

Every State has some point where the amount of excessive speed becomes serious. Learn what your State’s limit is and stay the hell below it. For instance in New York 30 mph over the posted limit becomes reckless driving and is not like a regular ticket, it’s a type of misdemeanor carrying a criminal record, big fine and whatever else they want to throw at you.

Learn the limit in your own area, for instance here in British Columbia anything over 25 mph will attract a whole lot of trouble.

A big wake up call is a near miss where you almost lose a limb, total your car, get hit by a drunk driver head on. This is just you being a piece of ****.

So I got pulled over and he asked me to get out of the car and all of a sudden I see 3 cop cars behind me. Gave him all my **** and my PBA card. He talked to my dad which is a Lieutenant than came back pissed the f*ckkkk off and said your lucky I talked to your dad and that he is who he is bc if it was anyone else they would be coming with me for the night. Does anyone else feel like they constantly speed or just drive way too fast?

I don't have any speeding tickets, but I do find myself going over speed limit time and time again not overly fast but the smooth ride is very misleading.

Your about as much of a jackass as OP, both of you guys should race chicken and see who is the real speed king

Negative chief. Being a twit, playing around, putting only yourself and car at risk is different than doing FORTY effing miles per hour over posted. Yes, we all have Z's, they are quick. Fun. Doing some hard launches, little back road twisty fun is a different kind of stupid than 40 over.

idk why you all are being dicks to op, he is simply stating an event in which he learned a very valuable lesson, u idiots believe the only technique to learn a lession is through harsh punishments/consequences, for those who believe that, try taking a psych class and you'll be taught otherwise. some my350z forum posters are just dicks... ignore them op and glad you had a wakeup call w/o any harsh consequences.

I've gone 40 over. A lot. It's road and time dependant.

Take something higher than Psychology 101 and you'll learn something completely different. Don't talk about things you know nothing about.

"...they did not buy a Z to cruise below the speed limit...".

I bought the Z because it's fun to drive at whatever speed is appropriate, legal, and suits me. Driving below the speed limit gives people more of a chance to enjoy seeing my nice sporty car.

Having a car that'll go fast doesn't mean you have to drive like a spoiled a**hole idiot. Grow up!!

OP, unless you were making a thread asking for advice, ie. looking for a lawyer in your area because you received the ticket or asking how best to handle the court appearance that would follow, then this thread is just a general bad idea.

Specifically let me phrase it this way. You've just publicly admitted to breaking the law and speeding (quite excessively may i add) on a Google searchable thread. Why would you do this? On top of this you are providing useful information about yourself: father is Lieutenant, located in Long Island, NY, and you've been in another incident recently. To the right person figuring out who you are is easy. Add the fact that you are selling your taillights and I can get your address by asking to meet with you at your location ...you're in essence making this beyond easy for any law enforcement personnel browsing the forums.

Far fetched? Not really, certainly wouldn't be the first time someone ran their mouth on a forum and got in trouble with the law.

You got away with it, now sit down, and shut up. Thread=dumb idea.

You just said you speed in developments where you know there are children playing even though you live there.

Reading comprehension, give it a try sometime.
