That's because us Canadians are liked around the world. I remember back when I was 11 visiting Japan on a martial arts exchange program there were these Americans that got spit on by several older Japanese folk. At the time I didn't really know why the Japanese didn't like these Americans but was glad I had Canadian flags all over my jacket and bags. I've heard a lot of Americans stick Canadian flags on their luggage when travelling just to make sure they get treated with respect.

Californians say BRO, bro..

we all have our quirks, maing.

Didnt happen to me while I was there. Japan seems to be a really hospitable place to visit.. except when americans get stupid (which they often do) and start abusing the system. Just treat the way you want to be treated, period.

Then there is swimming, tennis, golf (sometimes), iron man contests, surfing plus all sorts of other sports that Oz kicks US a*s....and how come you call some sports "World events" when only the US plays them?

(don't get me wrong I like the US!! )

OK, first you're worried that we call our Z cars Zee cars. Now, you're worried that we call some sports competions "world" events when mainly U.S.A. people compete. I don't care what you do in your country, but, for someone from a fairly laid back part of the world, you sure seem bothered by what other people a long way away do or don't do.

What next? When I say I'm from the "south," you say, "South? Hah! You're on the wrong side of the equator to be from the south!" ?

For the canucks, there ain't a lot of hockey down here in the sunny south. For the aussie's, there ain't a lot of roos up here north of the equator. For both of you, hey, we don't really care.

WayneTN (just jokin' with ya)

Hehe, yeah....Your toilet flushes backwards from those in the REAL south.

The reason we get to call all these sports "world events" is because all the good players from other countries come over here to play them.

Except maybe SOCCER (hehe, we know what real football is. Um...it's the one where you stand around alot, push people around for brief moments, and very rarely actually kick the ball. Although the punters and place kickers in this next super bowl may get a real workout).

Ahhh, this is a fun thread!

Later,
D'oh!
