Default Noob question about factory alarm/keyless

Can someone tell me what is Stock or normal that comes with every 350z regarding the factory keyless/alarm?

bought it used, not sure if what mine is doing is "normal".

I have a keyless fob that will do the following: Lock the car + blink the turn signals. Unlock driver's side. Unlock both sides if pressed twice. Pop the hatch. Panic. Holding UNLOCK will roll the windows down.

That's it.

What bothers me is that it will not honk or blink the turn signals when pressing unlock. So I never know if it's unlocked until I walk up to the car and try opening the door, or I press it about a million times to be safe.

Doesn't seem to have an alarm, as in sounds going off if it's hit or you try to open the door when locked.

The car apparently has an aftermarket alarm system. I took it to an alarm shop but when they tried pairing it with a remote it would only lock and chirp. No unlock. No trunk opening, no window roll down. Screw that. It has some autolock feature when if you get in the car and put the key in the ignition it will lock the doors but the alarm is funky so I'm going to remove it.

If it's normal for the stock factory system to have an alarm, I won't bother getting another alarm. If it's only keyless, it will factor into my decision on what alarm system to upgrade. Either way I'm removing the current one.

When you unlock the car, the lights will only blink. The only time the horn sounds is when you lock it. AS for the alarm, mine has only gone off when i opened a locked passenger door from the inside, so I think it only sounds when a door is opened when its locked or if the window breaks.

Gotcha thanks. My lights do not blink when I unlock so i think the current viper alarm system is messing with that. I am going to try and remove that alarm system cause it's not serving a purpose.

The owner's manual has instructions for different settings on the key fob/lock functions.

You can set it so the horn doesn't blow when you lock the doors with the fob, for example. A little reading there might get you what you want.
