We definitely need more info on the symptoms and on the car itself.

Most likely cause of steering-related noise is the serpentine belt slipping. That'll be coming from the front of the engine. An '07 would have to have lots of miles for that kind of problem, though.

It doesn't seem like it comes from the engine .. It sounds like it would be right under like my dash and all that .. I mean there isn't any other symptoms .. Just like a screechy type noise when I turn left .. I have 48k miles on it

Have you tried adjusting the position of the steering wheel to see if the noise goes away?

Does the horn and all the buttons (if any) on the steering wheel still work? Thinking clock spring issue, maybe.

I haven't tried that .. I think I will try that tomorrow ... If it is the clock spring .. Would that be hard to fix?

I agree with Winchman, the first of my S14's did this at first it was only when I started the car and after about 10 minutes it stopped, but gradually got worse. Funnily enough it was worse on damp mornings (about this time of year) and only stopped when I adjusted the belt.

I believe the Z has two adjusters one on the bottom and the top for the serpentine belt, but check out this thread
