Default juvi22003 350Z Build Thread

Picked up a 06 Z Roadster last Sunday for my daily, its got a 186k miles but car was so clean i couldn't resist. Originally wanted hardtop but again i couldn't resist the deal. Yeah i know its suppose to be a daily but i don't see myself driving around this car stock, as soon as i'm done with my IS i'll be working on this....Drove it home 200 miles with no issues so far i know it needs front and rear brakes and it has an exhaust leak

Let me first introduce myself with my previous lexus IS, my Current Lexus IS and pics of Z.......

what was the magic number if you dont mind my asking?

Looks good, I would be concerned about the 180k miles but if the price is right and it drives well, I guess anything is possible.

I am thinking of selling my wife's tiburon and getting her an 03 Z with higher miles for around 6k$

So far so good, same engine as the previous gen and they really good with the interior. What i hate the most is right where the rear bumper and fender meets is shaped funny so i cant run aggressive wheels and offset like i did with the previous gen. With the F sport you will have a different bumper of course, digital gauge, navi and bucket looking seats.....

It was listed at 10k something i ended up getting it for 8k out the door. just looking at the pics it looked very clean so i rented a car and drove 200 miles to get it. He told me it had an exhaust leak and what was obvious to me it needed brakes. Took it to the dealer this weekend and this where all the other stuff came in i didn't know about smh

So i took the car to the dealer over the weekend to get an oil change but obliviously wanted to see if anything else needed to be repaired.

So i bought brand rotors and pads and had a lil side stop install them but i'm still getting a lil vibration when i hit the brake cant figure out what it is and its definitely not alignment.

Next they told me the belts needed to change asap i think its only 2 correct me if i'm wrong also where can i get them?

Next needs new valve covers and gaskets, found this on ebay new valve covers plus gasket for $420 maybe you guys can tell me if its worth it or not:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191133722870...84.m1423.l2649

Next needs new spark plugs

and last, i guess the person who previously owned the car was very cheap they welded the cat on the right to the midpipe and down pipe instead of just buying a new one to replace it and as u can see in the pic there is a hole in it causing leak. Im not a fan of the welding and would just want something to bolt right back up so im thinking of just buying aftermarket mid-pipes and aftermarket cat so everything can bolt right back up let me know what you guys think.....

OP, that's the bracket for the cats. As for the Y-Pipe to the cats, i suggest picking up a set of ART pipes and a new Y-Pipe or exhaust. idk why the original owner would have welded them but something doesnt sit right with the exhaust

Its the brace/bracket that is suppose to be bolted up to the cats. I the other side is still bolted up because its the original.
