Question Track tires?

Hi guys

I am planning on buying a second set of tires for the track. Logic dictates that 17" should be better for the track; but which dimensions should I get get? And will my speedo reading be effected by this?

17's are great for the track mainly because there are a lot more tire sizes available in 17"... but also because 17" wheels tend to be lighter and easier for the car to get rolling.

I use 17x9, offset 35, Enkei RPO2J with 275/40-17 front and rear. The tires I prefer are hard compound Yokohama AO32R. Your speedo may be affected, but not enough for you to tell a difference. And, there is no problem with ABS, VDC, TCS or any of that stuff. At the track you probably won't be looking at the speedometer and you will have all the car-control gizmos turned off.

Hope that helps.

If you are concerned about speedo readings, then go to the tire calculator to compare tire sizes.
