Default how is my dividers floor getting wet?

Ok so I will get a pic up of the spot in a few mins but how in hell can the floor rug under my driver side Matt be getting wet after either I drive in the rain or my cats parked in the rain.almost every time I check it it seems to be damp, mind you I purchased the car with a hole previously there. I checked for rust and there to be none living in nyc. Any other things you guys think I should check?

If there was a hole previously there, then you gotta check that again. Probably opened up again
