Declining expectations for My350Z posts
I understand I find the same problem, then when you ask for help, you get told that the question has been ask and answered a 100 times, I need to ask reset tpms light and air bag light but no luck, I will see if there is another (like) site
Just for S & G's, searched "reset tpms".
First page up;

Not going to do the same for "air bag light", some things a man's gotta do for himself.

Not really sure what your problem is because I’ve seen the responses to your questions and they were from the most helpful people with real information. On top of that, I’ve seen your other responses to age old threads, e, g., “Air bag repair shop? Where do you live, Detroit?”
Real helpful response.
Forums are a wealth of information. Learn how to search first. Use the tool here or use Google site command. Forums are about putting in to get out what you need. Yet, you whine.
So go then. Nobody cares nor likes a useless smartass.
Yeah. This. Thisnis why I barely post here in the last 7 years. Seems like the owner went a little nutty.
9 years later and only 20 likes. I guess we now know what the real problem is.
QUOTE=dkmura;10580736]As one of the older members of this forum, I try to contribute to the discussions in a constructive way. My background includes experience writing for various automotive publications, including time as the editor-in-chief for the now defunct Nissan Sport Magazine. Beyond that, my passion has been as a longtime Nissan racer who still drives his pre-order '03 track model and races (and wrenches) on SCCA T3 Z33. So I've learned a bit about the model and am generally happy to share what I know with some of the newer owners and members of My350Z.
But these past few weeks have me shaking my head more than just a few times at what's posted. The questions being asked seem to be from new drivers who know very little about cars in general, or about the Z33 in particular. Examples include asking about what's involved with making 500-600 hp from $5K in parts. Or about how hard it is to buy a car (yes, immediate gratification is not available when picking a Z), or mistaking specific parts like what a "Murano rear end" is doing on their Z. There could be plenty of other examples, but it continues a trend of declining expectations in the quality of discussions on My350Z.
For every post asking for relevant information in the maintenance section, there's another two asking for how to "fix" their cars. As though any of us could magically appear next to their engine bays and tell them what the solution is. Many times, it's as simple as telling them to use their cars onboard diagnostic programs to pinpoint the problem. Sometimes, they may have to bite the bullet and take their cars to a Nissan dealer to have a tech with the right tools diagnose a complicated issue, rather than throw parts at it. And then there are those who think the Z is as simple as putting different parts from different models (engines, harnesses, ECMs, etc.) on a stripped shell and expecting it to run, and run perfectly.
Not nearly that easy, my friend.
As the Z33 continues to drop in resale price, this decline is inevitable. But I wish new members would only take the time to understand how different the Z33 is from the Hondas and Nissans they may have started with. It's another dimension in terms of electronic sophistication and design from the previous generation of cars. Or, if this is their first car, start with an education of automotive basics (so you know how certain parts work and what they look like) together with doing a thorough SEARCH before posting what could be a lame question. It'll probably save them from a certain amount of embarrassment and keep the rest of us from slapping our foreheads every day![/QUOTE]

This issue is not a new one for most things that have a following.
You have the "I was there when it started crowd", the bandwagon crowd, the "I can finally afford it" crowd, the "I am guru" crowd, the elitist crowd, and finally the "Just tell/show me what I want to know" crowd.
I fit in there somewhere in the middle of most of those groups. I mainly joined because I was so excited about my new car and used these forums(and others) to learn about the issues with the 2003+ models. It is because of the community that I felt completely comfortable with my purchase, and happily shared my interest and curiosity about ownership.
I don't subscribe to the exclusion or ridicule of people who don't know to search or to people who are obviously not self sufficient. Growing the community in a positive manner lifts everyone.
If you don't want to hold the hand of these people, then don't. Continue to refer them to the search function or other historic threads that might help. Dismissing people because they did not meet some arbitrary requirement they might not even know about is not going to help them become a net positive for the community, it just spreads the toxic nature of low minded people on the internet.
Try to stay positive and help when you can or feel like it.

When I was young, I used to drive an M3 and yeah... be on those forums. College or car meets schedule was one of my biggest problems. 20 years later, I still own my M and I still enjoy my 350z. They both look and run like new because forums like this. I have a brand new family SUV and also a track toy, But at the end I still love my 350z. I would prob get a nismo. A simple search on google will bring you back here until you move on to something different. The database in here is immense and now is very quiet..LOL
I take offense to that statement!
I've been doing my part to keep things somewhat active (as have others). I guess we are just the few die-hards who love the Z33. I'm all for helping new owners or even veterans with solving problems provided they are willing to put in some effort and meet in the middle. I think we can all agree that expecting a stranger on the interwebs to wave a magic wand and fix your car for your isn't going to work. Having detailed information and some knowledge about your car (or cars in general for that matter) before begging for help goes a long way.
Cheers!

The Z33 platform has been out for two decades now. Just about everything has been covered on here but people aren't willing to search or they're just looking for a baby spoon.

Preach, brother. These posts about "a weird noise," "car won't start," and/or "I want to make 500+ HP and I only have a thousand dollars" get old real quick and don't receive a lot of attention.

Then again, there's the other side of that when a thread goes on and on and on and on with no substantive point or conclusion. I blame Heel for helping to propogate such. Laff.... J/K DL, all good.
It's like slow cinema. I want to kill myself once I start watching it, yet I keep watching it and thinking, "What am I doing with my life?"
