I've browsed that thread before just too much information...I don't think any oil out there will save me 1 quart per 1000 miles...I don't want to waste my time trying new oil and researching oil when I can just pour more in in 3 minutes.

However, I was thinking to send some oil in for analysis about a year ago. Same even if I do a compression and leak down test, they all prove there is an oil consumption issue. I don't see the oil come out during oil changes I know there is an issue already. It's not a cheap fix, it has to be something internal in the engine that will cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Right now I need to bandaid fix this problem until I actually see a car I want to buy

The band aid is to check your oil at least weekly and add oil as needed. That will keep you engine from destroying itself.

Your best fix is to get what you can for this car and get yourself a Honda or something you don't have to take care of.

LS460!? Whaddya doing driving a Z? If that's your dream car, we're wasting time explaining how to check your oil here...

Also, if you think gas prices need to come DOWN from the current pricing, I have bad news for you. US fuel pricing is about as low as it's been for over five years and we should enjoy the cheap gas prices while we can.

Same for Canada. I haven't seen gas under 1$/L in years.

If you are not using synthetic oil, residue and sludge will accumulate quickly. The inside of your engine will become a "tar-pit"

Currently have a g35 sedan, really want a Q60 but the LS460 is nice too

Yes and I know oil is pretty much at the bottom right now, I was joking because the ls460 has a v8
