I am considering installing a rear spoiler on my new Z. The factory kit sold through Courtesy includes 2 gas struts for the rear hatch. Unless the spoiler is made of lead, I really don't think the new struts should be necessary. If anyone has installed this kit I would appreciate any info about the spoiler kit and any installation tips. Thanks.

 

I was thinking about doing the same thing but was a little concerned about drilling holes in my new baby so I'm having it "port installed". The instructions are pretty clear cut from what I read.

Even though the spoiler is relatively small it does add weight on the outer edge of the hatch so I'm sure the new struts are just a little stronger to support this added weight. You can always try the originals and see what happens.
