Default Is my seat belt backwards?

I have a 2007 350Z. On the drivers side, where the seat belt clicks in, the red/orange release button is next to the console and the seat belt does not cover it up when attached. The passengers side however the red/ orange release button is on the seat side and when the seat belt is attached, the belt covers it up. It is in the same postion as the drivers side. In every other car I have, the drivers side and passengers side are reversed so the button is next to the console on both sides. Is this just an odd quirk of the 350Z or is mine reversed on the passengers side?

Thanks 92K1500. Never owned a Nissan before this one and had always wondered about it. I had a buddy years ago with a Toyota that had the seat belts set up just like this from the factory.

I assume that it would be easy enough to just unbolt the seat and reverse the part of the seatbelt that is backwards? Has anyone ever done this? I should have tried this years ago.

The belt is bolted into the seat frame.
