It depends on states/coverage/etc if you will be compensated for aftermarket parts. It's likely that you won't if they weren't included in the policy.
If it's in the policy, those parts are theirs now, and you will get a check. Removing them could be considered fraud.
if it's not, they're only insuring a stock vehicle. If you can trade and reinstall OEM parts of equivalent or better mileage/condition then it should be acceptable, but this needs to be done quickly, and you will need to do the work.
Depending on how much you have into the vehicle, it may be a better option to take the buy-back option. From there, either part it out, or consider doing some lighter repairs and taking to full track spec.
The frame all looks pretty straight here. You may need a few subframes, etc. but you'll probably only be into the car 3-5k after the buyback. Pay a body shop to straighten the roof and put on a new skin, grab a used front bumper, wrap the whole thing instead of painting it and you could have a pretty damn nice track car.

Glad you're ok, OP-

I'm thinking a few heat cycles and the tire was not up to temp. Easy to break away, especially if you found a slick spot on the pavement

No, silly Shane-
If you were to mag up the pic, you would see that the tires were feathered, treadwear indicators showing time for new tirez. Nail in the front pass side...
Not arguing the quality of tires here, more about their condition.
Pay attention! Read, reflect, then post. All good

Hah, yeah I'll blame the screw in the tire for sure. Good attention to detail there man. RS3's probably weren't up to temp, I'll add that to the maybe list too.
Yup was Chris's car. Loved this thing. Really bummed I let this happen to it. But I'm happy it was a really mild wreck that ended its life instead of a 100 mph track accident. I would take this accident over any 20mph fender bender, I literally don't have a scratch on me or even a sore neck or back. I got a small cut picking glass out of the seat when I got home, that's it haha.
Insurance is taking care of me pretty well actually, I'm very relieved at this point. Will keep everyone posted.
This may well be the perfect track car candidate if fixable... I wonder...

All of you claiming that Z is not totaled need a swift reality check.. Come on... This Z is DONE. SEE YA. ADIOS BYE BYE. CATCH YA LATER.
/rant...
Sorry for the loss OP. I believe you when you say you were just getting on the highway and lost it. I lost mine in a yield the other week and it happened out of nowhere. The road was slick from rain and the back end kicked out. Luckily I recovered with no damage but still I can imagine with some speed how this happens.

I really appreciate everyone's support. This is a solid forum. It's been a pleasure lurking here.
If my budget allows in the future I'll definitely be back.
Right now I think the plan is to get a daily + miata for track. Something I can destroy without caring so much about the value.
Daily options include: 4 runner, Mazda 3 hatch, tsx maybe, honda FIT... I'm all over the place.
