Hahaha, most definitely. lol. My Z sits now more though since I have my street bike. Saves me from traffic and I park it right in front of stores on the sidewalk. lol
Just park where people don't park which usually the farthest from entrance to where ever you going and the extra walk only gonna keep you good to keep the weight off the car lol. I had it worst when some *** back uped to my car and cracked my bumper.
If you want to remove the dings, you should look into paintless dent repair (PDR).
When I bought my Z a few years ago it had about 9-12 small dings in it. I got them all popped out for approx $270. My car now has no dings. I also always park my car by curbs and hug the curb leaving other cars plenty of space.
It's the same where I live too. Most of the time it's foreigners, not being racist, but it's simple fact here. The people who own cars and park them like total crap tend to be from a country where the primary mode of transportation is Public Transit, meaning most have never sat behind the wheel until coming to America. Learning how to drive in America for many new comers is like learning a foreign language. They also tend to look at cars completely different than we do. To them...it's a simple tool used only for getting from point A to point B. Vehicles are not sources of pride, expression, or an extension of ones self.
Therefore, they get treated like crap. I see a lot of cars around the office, not old ones, fairly new ones, that are in horrible condition. Never been washed, never been vacuumed, etc. Full of dings, dents, paint scrapes, etc. 9 times out of 10, the owner is from a 3rd world country and working here on a Visa. Are they all like this, absolutely not. And I've seen plenty of 2nd and 3rd Gen+ American's treating other people's property like crap to.
One quick story
1) This happened on Memorial Day. I was leaving a restaurant with my Fiance and like usual after a meal I stopped to have a smoke before we left (won't smoke in my Z). A few minutes into it, I see this BIG ford truck pull into the parking lot and proceed to park in front of my Z (front bumper to front bumper). It's driven by an old white guy. Meanwhile, I'm watching very closely and hoping the unthinkable doesn't happen. But sure enough, I literally watch this guy hit my front bumper with his massive Ford truck. Hard enough to rock my Z backwards about 1/2". My jaw dropped, I was furious. But what shocked me even more, was that this guy and his wife, both just got out of the truck and proceeded to walk into the restaurant as if nothing even happened!!!!! I immediately called him out, had him come back and see for himself that his bumper was humping mine. He claimed he didn't hear or feel anything as he walked over, so it must not have happened right? Well the evidence was irrefutable. I backed my car up and inspected for any new damage. Sure enough there was a light crease in my bumper from his license plate frame + bolts, but nothing major otherwise. The guy was pulling in incredibly slow, like 1-2mph when he hit my car.
I'm a nice guy and just let it go since I plan on replacing my original bumper anyway (it's got your typical rock chip damage all over it, and a few dings from the previous owner). But seriously this kind of crap happens all the time and it's a damn shame. Had my bumper been freshly painted, I would've gotten his insurance information on the spot, taken pictures, and recorded a statement from him.
Yes...Park very far away. I have started parking on the 4th or even 5th floor of my work's parking garage. I only grab the end of row space and make sure to park over the line a little so that even if someone's door is flung open without thought, my car is out of reach. Best method so far. I have been able to prevent any new door dings in my car by doing this, however parking lots in malls/shopping centers have still had an impact over the years. Very frustrating to say the least.
I always find that my efforts of finding a parking spot far away from the populated areas are futile, because someone just HAS to park right beside me
Which is why if I'm at a restaurant, I always get a window seat so I can monitor my car
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I'm almost positive there's a club out there somewhere where they dedicate their time to going out of their way to park beside nice cars

Man this ain't no joke I got like 6 or so dings on my passenger door and maybe 1-2 on my driver door, I've thought about getting the little dent puller but being on the line on the door it might not work since its not flat, and I don'twwanna risk it looking worse. But this is exactly why I double park at my apartment and most of the time when I go anywhere, the one time I couldn't double park at my apartment I had another ding show up, plus someone managed to scratch the hell out of the roof just above the b pillar, and I mean deep, like deeper than the paint and into the body of it, almost looks like you clipped a tree or something, I seen it about a week ago and about had a freaking meltdown man..
my car stayed door ding free until this year at my garage my wife parks to close and boom all the hard work of parking far taking long walks went down the drain at my house
Oh wtf that's awesome, but how do you even approach and ask the person for their info in those circumstances without looking ridiculous?
Army Major, I'm my parking lot at work. An officer in my unit saw him do it, caught up with him the next day. Just asked him about it, he didn't see what the big deal was. That my 2014 Sienna

Thanks for the tips and for sharing your experience. It's sad to say, but I laughed several times.
Here is a prime example on this photo:
I parked faaar from the entrance of Walmart. It's even a secondary parking, occupancy rate never exceeds 10% of the stalls (sometimes I'm even the only car).
You can't see it on the picture, but there are many free stalls on the left of the green car.
Yet that horror chose to park right by me.
As someone mentioned, we live in a free country...
