Most of the young brz/frs owners try my Z but doesn't take much to see them in the rear view mirror

 

Had a 79 Pinto test me otw back from TN. Very close till I hit 6th.

 

We have owned the 08 350Z exactly 3 years now and for some reason it attracts v8 truck owners. In both situations, my wife was riding shotgun with me and had no idea the truck was pacing me side-by-side for a minute. I didn't bother to race because I have enough speeding tickets on my driving record already.

First truck was a Ford F150 (newer model) and the second one today was a Ford F150 SVT (early 2000s body style). The first one gave up and drove away slowly. The second gassed it hard and cut off the car ahead of me to show off his supercharger whine. For that split second, I wanted to trade up to a GT-R or perform a VK56 engine swap. LOL Cuz we know most trucks won't try to run against a GT-R unless they are heavily modified themselves. The VK56 engine swap would be a sleeper.

Any other Z owner encounter similar douchebags?

 

Yep, mostly get v8 trucks and SUVs like the Durango trying to race me, I let the Durango fly up on me and I hit the gas as he made it to my back bumper, he made it a little over half way up my car before he was falling back. He tried about 3 times, other than that its mostly older mustangs and camoros, Honda's now and again, street bikes, couple new challengers, beat both of those, one from a dig other at a roll but I think the second one would've had me. Had a couple new vw golds and a new merc c300, some really old guy, gave me the thumbs up when I left him and we pulled up next to each other again. But Its mostly street bikes, trucks/suvs and Honda's that try me. Only thing I lost to was a new mustang but he only hit it to almost 50 mph, and I was pulling back on him, don't know how that would've went... And a type r one morning while I was still letting the car get to temp and didn't want to push it to hard. And then a couple street bikes. Oh and one truck, I've never seen it before but it said dodge srt-10 on the side and I can tell you it was well modded.. it barely beat me and he was in the merge lane that came into my lane so I let off towards the end but he probably still had it but ill never know.

 

It took 'til 6th to dump him? John, John, John.... I am very disappointed.......

Around my area there are tons of Subaru guys that think their WRX was sent down from the heavens. There are plenty of Hondas but it seems the majority of the time they know their place. For BMW I don't see many Ms, and most of the newer 3 series are driven as they're supposed to be driven, like a luxury commuter, but 335s definitely roam around always wanting to start up something. Then of course American car guys with their Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, showing off their whales. Truck guys don't usually try to race they just drive like d-bags in general; tailgating and going way too fast for a truck of that size. An interesting one was a group of kids driving their parents Maserati were waiting for me at a gas station and followed me out trying to egg me on for a good 2 miles until they finally turned.

A G8 GXP keep speeding and slowing down and stuff for like 5 miles today when I was in the FX. It was light to light 35 mph roads too. At least two times there were cops. I was like yo **** off. I was going to tell him nice car since it was white and looked good, but he's clearly a figatross.

 

Had an 06-07 Civic Si try to race me yesterday.

 

I'd say these stories ARE getting into the darker gray of street racing.

I'd say KEEP UP THE "ATTEMPTED CHALLENGES" races. No one needs to die because of this thread.

 

My car gets very little attention in the form of street race challenges these days. Not sure why. I'm not necessarily complaining because I don't street race, but I always did enjoy the look on their face when they'd rev/stare or explicitly state that they want to race me and I'd just laugh at them.

 

I own a 300C and I can relate. 350Z vs a pig and it's even

 

But I'll take the handling of the Z any day. If drives so much better than the 300, and I used to admire the handling in that car. Just put the seats out of the 300 in my Z and I would be happy.

 

Yeah, weight makes a huge difference in handling. Just feels so much more effortless in a lighter weight car.

 

I get a lot of Civics and WRX's
Don't even acknowledge the hondas, They are just a waste of E85

 

Toyota corolla, 4 cylinder altimas and accords and camrys and of course any mini van.

My funniest was the mail man trying to race me. I also had a guy in a bmw m5 try to race me.

I was thinking this guy cannot think I'm about to race his 560 h.p autobahn killer smh.
