Sooooo update!
I ended up having to man up and get it done in the Z. It was a bit of a tight fit but it worked! I had it come throw the middle of the car, over the passenger seat. The trunk did not close but it was only open about 2 inches so that got tied down. To ensure that there was no pressure on the bumper, I put a gym bag full of clothes ( all I had on the trip with me lol) on the strut bar and the trunk hatch rested on that. Seeing wasn't that big of an issue and it actually ended up being much simpler than I imagined!
Thanks to everyone for the input though!

Travlee, that it was I should have done but didn't have a reliable body shop to put it on in Toronto and I didn't really have the time to wait around to have it done. But that is definitely the way it should have gone down!
