I have a good friend that sells head units and he hasn't spoken nicely about Sony car decks for a loooong time. I hope yours is the exception to the rule.
I think there is a big difference between the $200 Sony units your friend sells and the $1000 Sony unit that Philoso got. Remember, this unit uses some of the technology found on earlier Mobile ES units from Sony, those are some of the best damn headunits ever built. Plus I like the CD tray feature, you'll never scratch your discs.

This is my unbiased opnion since I'm also getting an Alpine 7995 or 7998 so don't get on my case.

Out of curiosity, how much coin did the entire setup cost? I'd like to hear it sometime too . I wonder how it sounds compared to mine w/ the stock head unit.

i think i remember seeing some pictures from the japanese version Z, they have different options for the Z to replace the bose and i think they fit perfectly, i only remember there's pioneer, but they look really cool.

i'm not sure but i think our site still has it, it's like a catalogue for japan and they list all the parts, certainly including the headunits, i wonder who will get them, how to get them and how much~ but in my opinion those japanese option really looks good since they are design it for the Z only~

I'm also wondering which wiring harness you got, philoso?
Also did you run all the wires straight along the center, under the shift *** area........i mean both power and RCA? Thanx. Nice install, by the way.

Cool

I've ran ALL the wires through center console. Its really easy. It even has these little holes on the metal so that you can stick your wires through it.
I've asked for nissan 2000 maxima wire harness.
Hope this helps.

Ohh ya. All together.. came out to be ~1300
I'll try to get more pics when I have my carbon consoles done.

No, I had a Corrado that had an a/d/s 4x100watt amp mounted between the rear quarter panel and the rear seat interior panel (so behind the passenger side door basically). In 8 years, I had zero problems of any kind. Even after cranking the system for hours, the panel was still cool to the touch.
