Question Who is going to Autocross???

I am thinking about racing this Sunday. I will be through my break-in period today. the Oil was changed at 900 miles.

I wasn't going to race this soon. But, this is the last one for the season here in Louisville.

I can't wait to start getting up to 6k rpms!!!

Default Must not be a very hot topic...

I figured there would be more interest in racing our cars.

Default Any reccomendations for schools in the Midwest?

I am in Louisville. I do agree with you that Autocrossing is not REALly racing. But, it is fun.

I would not call auto-x racing though.
If you really want to have some fun go to a driving school.
You get more track time and at a lot higher speeds.

I'm surprised the season is over in Louisville. Our region has two more left. The first is on Sept. 28 in Muncie and the the second is Oct. 27 in Converse if you are up for the drive.

Default I was wrong...

There are 2 more "fun" events after Sunday. Muncie isn't to far. I am not sure where Converse. It is possible!

Thanks

absolutely. I need to get my car, then get through the break in, then... hell yeah. Even my dad is looking foward to getting involved! How can you say AutoX isn't real racing? It is all about the driver not about what car can go the fastest. With the time corrections by catagory, they are pretty much even overall. I have yet to autox but many of my old friends used to. By the way does anyone know what class the 350 will be thrown into? what cars are we competing with?

Default You make good points...

I have only raced once (93 RX-7) so I am not speaking with great experience.

I would guess AS but possibly SS because of the Handling + 287 horses. I will find out Sunday.

From what I've been told so far, we will run in AS since the car hasn't been classified yet. Next year the car will get put into the correct category. Just for comparision, the S2000 runs in BS.

FYI-Converse it outside of Marion. Love to have another Z there!
