If you've only got $1200 for all your mods, you might consider some better (lightweight 18") wheels and tires, like the Rays V1 Track wheels, or maybe some aftermarket swaybars. In both cases, you'll see real improvements.
^^^^ Totally this. But note the last line.....

YOU will see them. OTHER PEOPLE will not see most of those mods (even the wheels cuz they're OEM type). Just sayin' you need to be honest with yourself on mods: do you want real performance or just the look of?

Not sayin' either is better cuz everyone has a preference. Just give in to your wishes, whichever way you go on this.

Dude, go to a muffler shop and have them cut your muffler out and extended the tips back out to the bumper. Sounds effing awesome.

AKA muffler delete.

With the other 1k buy some rims and good tires, if its not lowered already do that. That car is already really fast!

If you want to see the most gain on a exhaust, you would need to get a Test pipe (or a high flow CAT). HKS rep true dual seems to be popular on the budget, you can get a TP for around 200ish also.

I spent a little more and got Motordyne TDX2 and PPE headers.

If you want the most gains on exhaust it needs some snails attached to the piping... But that cost a fortune and the car has more power then you can use on public roads 90% of the time as is...

But if you need a new exhaust I would just keep checking craigslist and find a name brand used system for a fraction of the retail price...

Also pop charger and plenum spacer or V+ are common mods that yield mixed results.

he just needs to save up. if he does test pipes, exhaust, and plenum spacer, he will need a tune... so figure about another $700

Default What is the point of getting a new exhaust system?

So all the haters have recntly been telling me there is no gain in power with a new exhaust system, which i get. With that being said, what is the point of getting a new exhaust system, is it strictly just sound and looks?

takeda intakes - $340
MotorDyne Art Pipes - $600
MotorDyne TDX2 - $1700
UpRev Tune - $700

There are gains , just not that much. Don't expect an $800 exhaust and to get you 50hp
