It's been 15 years since I was in those parts, where is the track?

I've driven a couple BMWs and they drive great and the fit and finish is insane. But meh. I'd own a Infiniti or Lexus first any day if I was in the market for that kind of car just cause they are a million times easier to work on and cheaper
But back to the point I'd still take a new Vett. I doubt I'll hear any noises over long tubes lol

Bmw build quality is great, both initial and long term. I'm basing that on e30,e36 & e46. Those are the few I've seen which can be considered "old". I almost went with an e46 over my Z a few years ago. I agree the fit, finish and overall quality is great. The cars are a bit over-engineered for my taste. They do what other great cars do with out going all "German" on the design.
Second note, a good friend is/was a master mechanic with BMW for 25-30 years. To quote him, "...the parts are throwaway and the electric issues will make you insane."
The Viper is killer track car but, pop the hood and I can show you details I wouldn't let go(gen5). When you pay that much money, you have a reasonable higher level of expectations. The welding and fitment of components in visible locations are crude. I could give you a better weld with an 80amp harbor freight MIG. That is sad. I realize those parts are most likely outsourced but, there is still something called QA/QC. That was 3 of 3 Vipers I checked for the same issues.
The C7 vette: several hundred miles and 3 days, I did not find one thing I didn't like. $60k for that machine and you really get a lot! I'd like to see how the car fairs over the next ten years. The vette is proven mechanically, so it really comes down to component quality and construction.
Every car has a compromise somewhere, in some way. The reality is; if it's a moving part, it's a matter of when it fails, not IF. They are all great cars. Two million dollars for a car and it will still have issues, assuming you drive it enough to get to that point.

Thanks for all your opinions i'm actually leaning towards the 2016 Camaro 2SS but time will tell i think it's a great car lot's of good reviews even on the interior. Would be nice to have a back seat again to.
I just don't know as of yet but i will test drive them i don't care of brand i like a lot of different cars for different reasons at the end of the day if a car makes me feel good i know i made the right choice.
I will miss the Z and i have intentions on getting another one in the future just waiting to see the next generation

No because other than HP and a good motor everything else about a vette or vipers build quality is crap. I mean have you ever sat in the interior of either car? Total crap gm parts bin garbage. I'm sure the latest greatest is ok but let me know how many squeaks and rattles develop over the course of 50k miles. The ZO6 is a good car from a performance standpoint but I want alittle more refinement than GM or Dodge is gonna give. Keep in mind initial quality and long term reliability are two different things. I have almost 100,000 (96k)trouble free miles on my e90 try that with a viper LOL
c4 and c5 are meh at best

I wouldn't be surprised if they offered the same option on the newest of the latest and greatest Camaros.

Off topic, but how high is the ceiling in your garage? What brand is that 4 post lift? I've thought of getting one, but the ceilings in both my garages is around 10'. Is the 4 post bad to work under? 2 post lifts scare me, and they're not good for storage
