Mods that come close to an M3/Porsche in handling?
I have converted to a full coilover suspension, replaced EVERY bushing with a poly, run stoptech pads and rotors, eliminated eccentric cams in the rear, replaced spring buckets, traction rods and camber arms in the rear with adjustable pieces and run 18x10 all the way around with 255 up front and 295 in the rear, and my buddy that will run with us in the mountains in his E46 m3 cannot touch me or my brother in his turbo miata.
Up next for handling is a Quaffe LSD, anti roll bars and a half cage. Then I'm done...

Not sure replacing all those parts are needed to improve handling to match an M3 but I'm sure every little bit helps. Your success is more likely attributable to driving skill and/or how comfortable you are pushing the envelope ;-)
I couldn't keep up with Sharif in the mountains at ZdayZ - he was in a NA 370z and I had 500 whp. Going uphill I should've had a chance and it was not even close. I just was not comfortable going that fast with no visibility around corners.

I currently compete against a e46 m3 and a couple of s2ks. For me to keep up with them takes just removing the cats, front sway bar, and a good set of coils that are matched with the type of tire you are using. Maybe upgrade to oem brembos. I have a 07 z with the vlsd. With a proper diff, you'll be faster or close. Again that depends on the driver as well. Too many variables. The e46 m3 has a phenomenal diff from factory. Something the Z lacks
I agree with you that the M3 diff> Z. But what's the cost of buying and maintaining a daily driver M3 for the next 5 years?
I've cleared my system with motorcycles / straight line HP fun and just want the next couple of years in a reliable cornering machine and per my trolling and previous Z HR ownership I can't think of anything that be driven as care free as Japanese.

Throw on some SWIFT Spec R springs, Bilstein shocks, Pilot Sport tires, and an adjustable sway bar and you'll be thrilled no question....add urethane bushings to front suspension and steering rack for more precise feel as well. Noticeable improvements....and last add an RJM AFP clutch bracket for adjustable clutch feel that far exceeds the stock Z feel....transforms the car.

So to recap, here is the list I made to get quotes from Chicago-land tuner shops to kind of get them done in 1 or 2 sessions. I plan to purchase and have everything installed right after I buy the car (whenever that is)
1-SWIFT Spec R springs,
2-Bilstein shocks,
3-Pilot Sport tires and light wheels
4-Adjustable sway bar
5-Urethane bushings to front suspension and steering rack
6-An RJM AFP clutch bracket for adjustable clutch feel
7-The ARK Performance GRIP Exhaust System
8-Berk Test Pipes / High Flow Cats
9-Air Intake
10- ECU flash- this is NOT on my priority list but just knowing its cost would be cool
Can anyone just throw me a ball park of how much the total of all this might cost? Or just respond by putting a dollar amount next to each one.
Again, thank you EVERYONE for responding and helping me out.

Assuming you buy everything new... VERY approximate prices.
1-SWIFT Spec R springs $300
2-Bilstein shocks $900
3-Pilot Sport tires and light wheels $1000ish for tires, $1000ish wheels (assuming you get a cheaper brand, ie. Enkei)
4-Adjustable sway bar $350
5-Urethane bushings to front suspension and steering rack $120ish
6-An RJM AFP clutch bracket for adjustable clutch feel $250
7-The ARK Performance GRIP Exhaust System $1400
8-Berk Test Pipes / High Flow Cats $500ish for HFCs
9-Air Intake$300-$500
10- ECU flash- this is NOT on my priority list but just knowing its cost would be coolmy shop would charge around $700 for an UpRev tune

I'll assume these mods can be applied to both HR and 370's.
Thanks again!

Just as examples: You cannot buy conventional Bilstein HD or Sport (B6/B8) shocks for a 370Z (well maybe they're in the catalog now but weren't when I was nosing around to see what's what); only the PSS10 semi-coilover setup.
Likewise, Hotchkis/Eibach sway bars for 370Z are also very different based on differing pick-up points/geometry of the suspension.
Heck, even wheels and lug nuts are different between 'em.... high offset front wheels, shank (vs. conical) lugnuts on the Z34.
And so on.
Takeaway: Get the car first, then order hardware.
so im in the market now and have cash ready to get a Z now.....
im still figuring out what I should get that can handle better?
A 2007 350Z i saw with 60K miles is $14-16k out the door
A 2009+ 370z with 80k miles is $16-20k depending on options Out the door
Stock the 370z handles better. Given there are mods for them now I think the 350z is more "raw".
Anyone else have any final inputs on what car with mods will handle best??
