Stock 2005 350Z with 36K miles (babied) - I know this is long shot but I have a coolant leak. There are no puddles or drips under the car and the only two signs are I smell the coolant on the hot engine when I shut it off and the fluid level goes down very little every 100 miles. I was wondering if there was any known common over the engine leaks or with my description where would be the best place to start my investigation be - thanks

 

I have an 05 with similar miles. Im the original owner and have gotten to know the little nuances with the car. The first thing I bet is that the coolant was never flushed or changed frequently enough so crystals have formed. That causes some issues especially around the radiator hose connection points. Another spot to look for is a small but infrequent drip at the bottom of the overflow container. Those are your most likely culprits. A lesser possibility for leaks is at the thermostat, but still possible.
