3 newbie questions
Hello all - just picked up an '05 ZR and got a couple questions. Any help greatly appreciated!
1. How do I tell exactly how bad the clutch is slipping? I know it is and even the cruise control immediately turns off on the hwy at the slightest incline. Also, any risk of further damage to other parts (flywheel, etc) aside from clutch by riding it till it gives out completely?
2. The voltage gauge (middle of dash, to the right of oil pressure) is at 3/4 vs the middle. Just north of 14v. Concern or no big deal?
3. The airbag light keeps flashing consistently. Easiest solution aside from duct tape lol? Fuse box??

Welcome to the forum ...
#1 - find an inclined road and drive up the road while giving 25% to 50% throttle - if you clutch is slipping you'll see that your engine speed (RPMs) rise inconsistently with vehicle speed.
#2 - yeah, 14v is normal
#3 - have the air bag light professionally checked, fixed and reset per manufacturers specifications - don't mess around with that one ... get it fixed the right way as it could save your life.

For 1 another way to test it is to go on the high way and cruise around 3k or 4K RPM in at least 3rd or 4th fear and push the clutch in then drop the clutch and it should go right to the RPM. It it's worn it will slowly rev down and decline until set RPM. The more worn the longer it takes to set and engage.
2 is normal.
3 make sure the air bag wasn't deployed before you got it. But take it to a shop and have them check to see if it's a relay error or if something is actually wrong with your SRS system. If it's like my parents old Honda nothing you can do about it and no matter how much you spend it will stay on as a false warning

Go about 35 miles an hour in 4th gear and accelerate hard.
If the rpm shoots up then it's slipping but if you slowly increase speed without the rpm increasing rapidly then you're good.

Replace Flywheel with clutch??
Yea the clutch is definitely shot considering I can idle in 2nd gear without moving... Since money is tight tho, how bad of an idea is it to keep the stock flywheel when replacing the clutch?
Thanks for all yalls help!!
