Default Heat Wrapping Exhaust For Noise Reduction?

Would this work? I'm considering wrapping my exhaust for this particular reason and would like to know if you guys think it would help reduce exhaust noise inside my Z.

Sorry if it's a dumb question.

I dont think it would enough to accomplish what youre after...just my 2cents, nothing to back it up other than my opinion and previous experience of wrapped exhaust.

There are some cases where heat wrapping test pipes can lead to less rasp.

i had the same issue on another car...
87 fiero GT + '95 4.3 Vortec V6, Syclone intake manifold and management, T04B H3 turbo.
I wrapped the tubular manifolds and pipes right up to the Y pipe at the turbo.
It dropped the WOT sound about 25% and reduced the underhood temps a lot.
BUT.... since my ex manifolds got cherry red on a regular basis it made the wrap very brittle and crumble. Also another issue popped up... i had a leaky valve cover and lots of oil got on the wrap which soaked it up like a sponge. It caused a small fire, in an easy to get at spot so no damage. Be conscious of any oil leaks if you use it. Lots of people have used this stuff with zero issues so it does work.

Either get a new quieter exhaust, have a baffle installed, or install sound cancelation under padding to your car.

I'm sure wrap will help some, but not as much as I think you hope it will.

yeah...It wasnt clear and maybe were all speculating on something different

other than weight, my stillen exhaust was awesome ... it had a great rumble, was quiet during normal driving and opened up during wide-open throttle runs...

Sorry if the question wasn't clear. To clarify, I wanted to reduce the noise level inside my Z. There's a lot of vibrational noise and it's hard to hear what the person sitting next to me says.

I currently have HFC's and the invidia N1 exhaust which I got last year so I don't really want to get a whole new exhaust.

Thank you for the replies, I really appreciate it.

Do what Trav says. I put Dynamat Extreme in my entire cabin, and even doubled the mat over the rear wheel wells. I also added Dynamat to my hatch (and added heavy-duty hatch struts) and the doors (innermost skins, leaving bolt heads exposed - what a pain.) The job took the better part of 3 or 4 days and cost about $450 bucks, plus it added about 40 pounds to the car. Still, I wouldn't have it any other way. The car really IS a lot quieter and the JL-Audio subwoofer just PUNCHES, especially at lower volumes.
