Default should i?

my buddy wants to trade his nismo intakes for my stocks and 100. I figure oem is worth 100 so that's 200 for the nismo intakes but needs new filters. aem dryflow are 50 each. so that's 300 for the nismo intakes. there is a spot on them where they rubbed on strut bar and the paint is peeling and decals falling off however id just wrap them. the benefit of nismo intakes is the heat shields vs basic short ram outside of r2c.

do you guys think this is worth it or should I pass?

Wellllllllll, Chris, it'd certainly LOOK cool and up your JDMAF cred.

But ya, thought about adding that to my Z33N but figured there was someting bettuh to spend $450 on - which I didn't either, instead selling the car to Sergio bone stock. Heh heh.

Whudya gots to lose? Realistic gains are minimal but hey, if you gain 5-10 ponies from R-Tune, at that price, a much better power:dollar ratio than buying new.

But why does he want to trade/sell? If he's selling the car, sure, but "why else?" is the question.

Expect 0 power gain. Expect 1000% sound gain. Intakes make the car sound better, that's what you are paying for.

Ditto and agreed most of the time, in rare cases you can see a minimal gain, for example charge pipe intake instead of restricted 2 or 2.5" intake pipe for superchargers or etc will give you 3 - 5hp gains. Just an example, all depends on your build/ etc

Just curious... it was an aftermarket strut bar, correct?

I have been on the fence about ordering them but I would not if they rub against the stock strut bar.

it rubbed on the locking nut on the driver side. the bottom pipe also rubbed on the top hats bolt and will eventually rub through.

They're doing fantastic stuff with duck tape, er, "racer's tape" n' re-use materials these days.

Yes yes, I know it's "duct".... I like the Duck brand for all 350Z needs though.

Hmm interesting... Guess I'm sticking with my OEM with K&N drop-ins
