I guess there are a lot of potential ways to interpret "Dumb." I'm going the route of "petty and unnecessary," as the package at my door today inspired this thread.

Isn't she lovely! One gently used, like-new condition, perfectly functional... In-dash cup holder. I spent real money, but at least it's real flimsy and probaby can't hold much more than a medium coffee cup!

I am STOKED. Goodbye mystery hole in the passenger side dash. Goodbye days of almost tearing my rotator cuff just to grab my drink behind me in the center console. Goodbye worries. Hakuna Matata!

Please, follow up with more magical stories of exercises in dumbness.

I'm not dumb enough to fall for the marketing BS, but anyone who buys a K&N (or similar knock-off "cold air" intake for their Z certainly is.

While not expensive, many early Z33 owners (including me) tried grounding kits.

That air duct.. What a waste. All it does is channel insects, rocks, and other crap into your air box. I regret ever installing it.

I was thinking about getting one of those.. When I was replacing my exhaust system I noticed that the one connected to my muffler had snapped. So I bought a nice 10ga. copper one and hooked it up, and ever since then the sound from my speakers has been a lot more clear.

Do repetitive purchases (and subsequent sales) of tires/wheels count?

Hey, well, in my defense, at least I know what works and what doesn't now. Hahahahahahaha!

But ya, this could be an informative thread... "Oooo, I'm gonna buy a turbo whistle for my exhaust!! Wait, why shouldn't I? Ohhhhhhhh......"

Oh, by the way, JasonGoalie, I loooooooove my cup holder. Even when it spills coffee out of the lid hole onto my radio. I've learned to use a commuter cup when I go to Starbucks or Peet's for a jo fix.

THIS

Not that is was a bad exhaust, but it was pretty much just a replacement for the stock system except it was lighter(and muffler was crooked).

I didn't notice any noise difference (maybe because my turbo acts as an additional resonator)

Ended up giving away the muffler and just using the mid-pipe because I hacked my oem mid-pipe for a e-cutout

Haven't spent it yet, but it's going to cost me $600 to wetsand and respray the rear passenger quarter panel after I took a nice chunk of paint out of it trying to load one of those HD carpet cleaners into it.

Well, that's just the COST of educating yourself about the pros and cons of just about every wheel on the market today. Since you're now the unofficial Z33 wheel guru, perhaps the board should give you a stipend every time you answer one of those "will it rub" questions?

Someday, I hope to visit Mic's warehouse of wheels, located in his ten car garage!

The warehouse is empty. Only ONE meager extra set now.

For the Z33 anyhow.

Thanks, it's a 20-20 unit. No, not a Coats tire tools product.

20 bucks, 20 minutes, done.

Fun thing is I built it with space for 8 tire/wheels for 350Z. Now it fits 10 Datsun roadster/240Z tires.

I have to say it was my OEM replacement cupholder as just OP listed. My original broke about 6 months after owning it. Wasn't covered under warranty so I just lived without it for years. Then I finally purchased a replacement a few years later, and I broke that one within 6 months again.

Correction: After some older asian gentleman was nice enough to give me these lovely new 'speed stripes' on my rear bumper, the dumbest thing about about to buy is some more paint/body work.
