Size isn't as important as the compound and tread design for your power output. Assuming you're not putting down 600+ stick to less gripy tires. Not to mention it's all personal preference with things like that. You'll be going through plenty so play around with sizes. See what works best for you. Also find what ever size is cheaper to replace.
As for federals, they aren't the best but far from the worst for drifting. It's been a minute since I've been around the drifting scene but I think the federal 595ss's are what most guys use for practice tires in the rear for federal.
Use something grippy up front tho. Those aren't great grip tires.
