Default How to phase out cam. 11.66 cam lift.

First off I have vq35de and brian crower cams with 11.66 lift both cams. I cant find any info on if 11.66 is to much lift or not. The add I got them from says needs tune and springs and nothing about piston/valve clearance being an issue. I keep reading that it is for the intake cam because the variable valve timing. So how do I phase the cam out so it can not adjust the timing? I cant just unplug the wires right?

I wouldn't unplug your VVT unless you want a significant loss in peak torque (around 60-80 ft*lbs). I run a JWT C2 with an 11.58mm lift and I don't have issues - it would be hard for me to believe that .05mm is going to interfere ....

Having JWT C8 cams with 12 mm lift, no issues. But that's far I would go without making valve pockets on pistons deeper.
