The GT Spyder is a pig. It's so friggin heavy, you might as well bought a SVT Lightning cuz they probably weigh as much. If I haven't stated what I would pick yet, NSX!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, very good points guys. Just when it seems that I have my mind made up something else comes up. I pay a lot for my insurance right now (like $220/month). I imagine the NSX must be a lot more than that. Mantaining the NSX will cost more than the Z I'm sure...that sucks. I think the M3 will cost less to mantain than the NSX, but will it be similar to mantaining the Z? I doubt it. The 3000GT is out of the question because replacing anything in that car will cost a lot since they are no longer being produced (it was a bad idea of mine to begin with).

I guess M3 is the winner?!?!? I thought this was going to be easier, but everyone here have given me reasons to doubt any of my picks. Hmm, maybe it's because this is a Z forum? lol.

(I hear my Z crying and saying) "why oh why would you even consider selling me?"

No no no no no, not the M3!! lol
Nah, it's a nice car, but I don't know about modding the M3. You can't really choose from too many parts. The NSX has more aftermarket support in fact. Plus it's extremely hard to extract power from that engine. Same as the NSX, but at least it has F/I options you can buy. Plus I bet a M3's insurance is pretty damn high. Maybe more than say a 5 or 6 year old NSX. Oh yeah, someone mentioned that BMW will gouge your eyes out in maintenance costs in 3 years.

If you can...try test driving all the cars that you're considering. It'll be hard to find a used car you can test drive it but it's worth the effort considering these are all high profile cars you're going put your hard earned money in. One of them will grab at you and be like "buy me!!" Only after being behind the wheel of one will you know which car is perfect for you.

Default m3

M3 maintenance and insurance will be multiples of the Z, assuming you keep the M3 beyond the free maintenance. As far as the M3 goes, the only two things it offers over the Z are 1) Better straight line performance, and 2) the Roundel. The M3's interior is really boring and dull unless you get the upgrades then it's just mediocre. But what really disappoints me though is BMW quality (or lack thereof).

Couldnt resist posting in this one. In my opinion... the NSX kicks some serious ***. There's no way an M3 will beat an NSX, and theres no way its going to handle better. Plus, there's the bragging rights. Ive only seen a few NSX on the road my entire life, but when you see one... its amazing. For me, it would be hands down NSX. I wouldnt even have to think twice about picking it over the M3. The cars are in completely different classes though, so think it over about what you really want.

I bought the Z for its looks also and would not just trade it for a car that looks average...so the NSX is the only logical replacement.

What turns me off about the NSX is that it's reall expensive to mantain and high insurance cost. Those are the only two things that stop me from buying it right now.

Another thing is that finding body parts to replace might be too challenging and I don't want to be worrying about not scratching anything for the fear that I might not find a replacement. I used to own a 3000GT and my ex-girlfriend went over a curve and scracth (destroyed) the hell out of the passenger's bottom side pannel (underneath the door) and I could not find that piece anywhere. That's only the 3000GT, imagine the NSX! Like I said, once I get those things (maintanence and insurance) straighten out then I'll really consider it.

I don't think you'll have problems finding replacements for an NSX. You can always go w/ a widebody kit....

Damn...that's a lot! It costs like more than 3 times than the Z for almost everything listed there.

For example:
Alternator --> Z = $125, NSX = $525!!! WTF

There goes that idea

Wanna see a sick NSX? It'll be at D1 this Sat and HIN next Sat in Socal. Used to be in the car group Options but is in... a new team. Words are useless without pictures so here you go. You can look at the specs on this car at http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/acura_nsx_duke.asp

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I'm going crazy!

I love that black one with the modified headlights (I already made it my wallpaper). The NSX is just too crazy. I would love to have one of these cars. That's it, the NSX or nothing (just keep the Z).

Why did you have to be so expensive to mantain Mr. NSX?

Just curious, where did you form your idea that NSX are really expensive to maintain? Aside from the big tune-ups (i.e. @60k), it shouldn't be any more expensive for normal maintenance. Also, have you actually had an insurance quote for the NSX? When I did it, it was not much more than a 350z's insurance.

Lastly, have you ever actually seen one running on the road? It's really a sight to behold. Photos really don't do the car justice. It looks stunning in motion on the road.
