Odometer not displaying in full - 68039 is current

Anyone else having or had this issue? How did you fix it? I know I can get a used speedo on eBay but I'd rather fix mine since it's in good cosmetic shape and only has 68000 mi on it.

There are a few youtube videos on how to repair digital lcd ghost segments. One of the common ways to repair old digital clocks was to unplug or replace batteries not sure this would work with the cluster. Sometimes its due to high temps that causes the damage.

 

I have the same problem.

 

It's probably a bad connection between the board and LCD. It might be repairable but it depends on how the LCD is connected.
