Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the only 05 with REVUP was the 35th anniversary edition and in 06 every model of 350 got REVUP

My problem with looking so far for one with brembos is they all seem to me automatics which sucks. Hard to find a manual with the brembos apparentky. Also, like all the Florida cars are automatics. What's up with that?

Peanut butter and jealous. I'm trying to squeeze some funds for a Quiafe and possibly 4.08 FD. Heard with a S.C. and 4.08, Z really opens up.

I am in jacksonville and i know the pain.Took me a while shopping to find a stick /brembo car.
05 35th stick cars.
and 06 stick cars got rev up.

I only drive sticks.. if you cant find a rev up i would still find a track model. they pop up alot. At least your get the VSLD and the good brakes.

I decided when i went shopping it would be at least 3 out of 4 "
Brembo
Revup or HR.
stick shift.
Rare/awesome color. .

I was not going to end up with base brake, DE engine, Auto ,black/white/silver car.. .. too bleh..
I was not going to get any car that only had 1 of those.
I ALMOST bought a 07(HR) in ORANGE. base brake automatic car. 2/4 aint bad. but im out 2K to trans swap and at least 1K in brake swap.
I missed a 03 Blue track edition with track wheels and some mods by like 7 hours.
Then i stumbled on an 05 35th car with decent miles in clean un modified shape.
Unfortunately it is silver (bleh). 3/4 aint bad..

Keep looking.

If you don't mind me asking masterj33, how much did you end up paying for your vehicle and what was the mileage? Just trying to guage what sort of prices I should be looking for.

Color for me doesn't matter and a manual transmission is a must

The best part about the HR engines is that they don’t die in power past 6k RPM.. they make power all the way to redline because they have magnificently designed heads. The de’s have lots of torque down low however, and there are things you can do to liven it up around the high rpm range, but it is expensive.

the revups are a good option, but like other people said they burn oil. There are exceptions.. Mine has 124k miles and I don’t have to add any oil between my changes. But you never know when you are buying used.

and don’t get torn up about the brakes. You can budget your way around better brakes by finding used / rebuilt akebonos (from newer nissan / infiniti models) and installing those with an adapter.

And do NOT buy a VLSD.. do some research on legitimate aftermarket solutions.. this will be very expensive if you do not build it yourself.. still expensive if you do.. cheap if you get lucky like Travlee.

Do some more reading outside this thread.. they all have their problems. At this point in the car’s age in general, your best bet is finding one that has been well cared for. Good luck

Yeah! some not all 06 Z's had oil consumption problems so it's a gamble on this year otherwise tread with caution.

They were asking 6K. 115K miles.
on the test drive i found the clutch slippping.

I told them 6K is fine for the car. but it needs a clutch.
I printed off clutch prices for a decent clutch kit and they were 700$
I showed them all data times of like 5-8 hours or what ever it is.
at the local rate it was 1000$ in labor. So I offered them 4K.

they sat on the bid for 2 weeks trying to sell it someone else.
Noone else had cash.
I bought it and took it to a friends shop with a lift and paid him 200$ to help me for a day.
I bought a clutch and flywheel and up pipes and y pipe for 1000$ and put it all in at the same time.

My 06' Rev Up has no oil consumption issue , 62K miles , oil changes every 2500 miles since new, I never had to add any oil between changes .

I'm not too worried about the oil consumption of the 06. I dont think I will risk synchro issues getting an 03-05. That's not worth it to me especially with later years having better engines. Right now I'm leaning toward and 07-08. Trying to find a manual version is proving difficult.

Seems to be a lot of them in Texas. Worried a bit about flood vehicles though with all the hurricanes that recently came through down south.

California has a ton of them but that's a hike from Chicago. Less likely to get a flood car there though so might be worth the trip. Would really suck if I got all the way out there and the car was crap though

Unless it's on the coast, Houston corpus christi galveston etc, no reason to worry about flood. Try to find one in DFW Abilene area

What do you guys think of this car? Seems very well taken care of. I know it's a base but I'll throw a KAAZ LSD in it and she'll be ready to rock rock. Unmolested and clean.

Is it an individual or dealership?

Right. That first picture in the hangar is a different car. You can tell by the hood and headlights. I checked the actual post and the rest of the pictures check out. Its worth taking look at I’d say. Just make sure it drives straight and has sound service records. (And check those fluids.. will be a tell-tale sign if it is being neglected)

Yeah I see the hanger pic is a different car. The hanger pic car actually had a busted front bumper so it doesn't make sense why he would include that.
