Default Brake disc removal problems

Hi everyone,

I am trying to replace my brake discs on a revup gt and it seems someone has put spacers on (could have been on for about 80,000 miles) and I cant shift them as the bolts are completely stuck, is there any way I can remove the disc? Or get the spacer off because it seems welded on, I do not want the spacers on at all btw
TIA

Bolt-on spacers?

8-10 foot pipe on the breaker bar or impact wrench?

Yeah they seem literally threaded into the brake disc, did take it to a garage and they sent it back, advise I got rid of the car and said they were impossible to get off

Post up pics. I find it hard to believe these spacers are welded on or affixed in a manner in which the rotors are no longer serviceable unless the previous owner was a real Dbag.

They can't be welded on. They just can't. Who would do something so stupid? Then again....

Anyhow, if they're bolt on, get penetrating oil (PB Blaster where we are, not sure what you have but anything) and let it soak. If no go with that, apply heat to the nuts with a torch and have a go again.

If they are indeed welded, you're going to need to find the bead(s) and hammer them out or heat them with a welding torch. That's just ridiculous! You might figure on replacing the lugs after this, to be safe.

If they end up being welded on or you can't break them loose, recommend just buying new hub bearings and rotors. Unbolt the hub bearing from the knuckle and remove the whole thing.

I'll try get some pics but I've had to put it all back together, I have had a garage look at it and they had heat on it and nothing budged it, they started to nearly break and break other components while trying to get the bolts off, they couldn't budge any of them and the main problem is it's on all 4 wheels.

The hub bolt is also covered up

yeah i would from your position. i'll try get pics but at work for now and the wheels are currently back on the car, i tried myself, and my father in law tried (he is very handy with modded cars) and neither of us could shift them and neither could the garage even under heat and with comp air tools. they said the bolts were drilled and threaded into the brake disc and basically rusted solid because they've been on 10 plus years

So is it welded or just extremely bonded by rust? Those rotors haven't been changed in 10 years?

my bad, i said welded meaning like thats how stuck they feel, i know its incorrect terminology they are threaded into the brake disc itself and covering everything needed to remove the disc but havent been maintained in so long that they are bonded extremely tight and even heat/penetrating spray or anything could budge them

Anyone mentioned a 3 arm gear puller? Legs might fit into middle slots for grip.

I'm with Rusty on this one. No can undo the bolts, yer going to have to chuck the entire hub assembly into the trash bin. Pretty amazing(ly lame) the skills of those with a loaded impact gun in their hands. One doesn't need an impact to torque to 85lbs. Yeesh.

Not sure how a gear puller is going to help when it's the bolts on the studs that can't be undone. If they were loosened and the spacer was still stuck on then maybe. But the basic idiocy of this scenario seems to be the bolt/nuts.

I'm actually surprised the nuts haven't stripped/rounded throughout this affair.

Really shocked that Heat + Impact + Penetrating Oil didn't do the trick. Where the heck did this car spend it's life? The rust belt? Hell, even cars in the rust belt don't offer up this much struggle. It sounds like someone used permanent loctite on the threads for the spacers. Let this be a lesson to all, spacers in general, are a bad idea long term. Also, as ajpasa said....a little anti-seize goes a long way!

You caught me skim reading on my phone fml...
Next bright idea is an angle grinder with a metal purposed disc. Beginning to think above posts have merit, pics are due.
