Default Axle Issues

Hello,

I am having axle issues where just about every road trip I go on I'm blowing out an axle. Any time I go over 150 miles in a single trip one of my axles will usually blow out. I am very low in the back with +0 camber so they are probably sitting at a ridiculous angle and are overheating from being at such an angle. My question is are there any stronger axles anyone is running that can deal with your car being lowered and take heat better. I've also read about axle spacers but wasn't too sure if those are just for people who are running a lot of camber. If anyone can recommend a stronger axle or explain if axle spacers will help in my situation that would be much appreciated. I also take the Z to drift events quite often and have never broke an axle drifting only on the drive up to the event!

I know I can always raise my car and how my full travel of the suspension is no longer there but I'm just a dumb kid so the car won't be getting raised.

Thank you

Take a pic from the rear underside of the car with it sitting on the ground so we can see the axle angle. Haven't heard of anyone having this issue with going extreme low. More than likely you are damaging the axle while drifting and the vibration of normal driving is finishing it off. The only axles i know of that can handle higher joint angles would be driveshaft shop pro axles. These are also designed to handle much higher horsepower/torque.

Ya that is what I was thinking. Drifting is probably banging them up quite a bit then I just happen to break them after the event is over on something that just gives it that final blow. I can't take a picture right now as I broke my phone on this trip as well! I guess I just have bad luck lol. If you have knowledge on them, would you mind explaining if axle spacers would help in this situation? Do they just press the axle together back to their intended length, because I can only assume my axles are stretched out a little more than stock due to them not being straight anymore and that probably is messing with the insides of the axles as well.

Never heard of an axle spacer, stretching a joint is only going to make the issue worse. Articulation of the suspension should not change the length of the cv's. Only the working angle of the joint. Honestly i don't think you can go low enough with the Z to get out of working angle but without seeing pics can be hard to speculate. How are your wheel and differential bearings? Also what is the condition of your differential bushings. Any excess movement in these locations could also make working angles greater.

Ya i believe axle spacers actually push the axle more together but once again never had them so I can't be for sure. And i have solid subframe bushings that raised the subframe about half an inch to try to make the axles straighter and also have new poly diff bushing. I guess my only real options are to raise the car a bit to try to level the axle or just be careful while driving. I believe when ever I bottom out on a bump its putting a huge strain on the axles so I'd assume if I just drive more careful on the freeway that would also help them. Ya sorry I can't get any pictures right now but i appreciate the insight and suggestions.
