Default Manual Transmission Fluid - 2003 350Z Base

Hi all - this is my first post. I did search around for this, but didn't see anything recent, so I am hoping to get some recommendations on manual transmission fluid for my 2003 base model 350Z. I just obtained this automobile and it has been sitting for the last 6 years in a garage, so if you have any additional recommendations on service / parts / fluids for me, I'm all ears.

Thanks so much!

Nissan factory fluid (75W-85) or Redline MT-85 (75W-85) are the two most recommended. Both are GL-4 rated (the only type one should use in the CDXXX trans.)

Since the car has been sitting for a prolonged period, suggest changing ALL fluids, especially brake fluid, which is hygroscopic and probably has a lot of water in it. Here's a few brake fluid types/brands to consider: https://www.thedrive.com/reviews/281...t-brake-fluids

Personally, I am a devotee of Motul oil in my Benz (but for no reason other than my Benz shop insists on it) and I use the Motul RBF brake fluid in all of my Zs and my Benz.

On oil, well, that's anyone's guess. Laff. There are about as many opinions here as there are brands. You can't go wrong with Mobil 1 though. That's pretty much a universal choice. Honestly, I'm not an oil snob but do trust the test reports (used oil analysis).

Factory fluids for rearend or transmission or power steering all work fine. Only reason to deviate would be an extreme application, e.g., racing.

I've ran both Redline and OEM, and would only recommend OEM. My trans was much more notchy and I think was one of the contributing factors to my synchros going out. Replaced with brand new CD009 and only run OEM now.
