Default "Brickyard" base 350z meaning?

Whats the meaning of a "brickyard" base model 350z? does it mean it was in an accident? Someone wants to trade for my automatic so I wanted to know what it meant lol.

It is a color that was available only on the 2003 Zs.

Going from a Touring to a Base would be a big step down.

and also, I have an add up for trading my 03 Touring Automatic 350Z for a 6 speed.. I have 75k on it.. this is what he sent me...I'm in Florida and have a 350z that you may be interested in. I wanted a stick, then realized that I don't like them anymore. lol Actually its because I had a sports injury(shoulder) 2 years ago and the stick just makes it hurt more. The car is brickyard base model (i stay local so I didn't want to pay the premium for stuff I won't need like cruise control.
2003 Base
Brickyard
44,000 miles
Newer Tires
6spd MT- people are always talking about how bad these are, I will say that its not as smooth as my dads or brothers BMW but its not grinding or anything major. At least from what I can tell.
Just changed MT fluid
Car was serviced by dealer before I brought it.

Would this be considered an even trade?

No. Unless the other party is giving you cash on top. But if you're just itching to move from a AT to MT, then you should go to a dealership. Remember, new...ATs are about $1k more than MTs from the get-go. Then you have a Touring vs. Base! If your Touring was all ratty and the Base was, really, really clean--maybe.

Your call. Let us know what you decide to do.

Oh, and beware of scams.

It doesn't cost much to run one...if you're serious about this car just do it. Beware, making these requests you may get flamed.

I wouldn't say that...I own a Base, by choice. The "lack" of things is what attracted me to the car. My point is that, both cars are 2003 (right?) and Touring Models (especially ATs) cost more off the bat.

Did you drive the offering party's car?

*By scams, I mean there are a lot of them so don't give any information out. BTW, how old are you? I ask only because of your posts read somewhat naive. So yeah, beware of scams.

I always thought the ATs were worth less. Atleast so every dealership, and person ive talked to has told me.

Only because of general preference. Bottom line is ATs cost more, like I posted, about $1k more.

No cruise control, no VLSD, no TCS/VDC, no HID headlights, no leather seats. That's why I said "big step down".

"Even trade?" For what? An '03 MT? If so, then maybe...depending on if they think your car will sell faster or not. Most dealerships wont just trade out cars unless there's something for them (e.g. your car is more popular with the local buyers, less mileage, new paint, etc.).

As you heard before, stay with your 5AT and avoid possible problems down the road. Especially if you had a shoulder injury, you want to rest that to avoid possible re-injury when you are older.

If you trade your getting suckered ... your car might have more mileage but its got a lot more to offer as well. Also if you have that many miles on your 03 you should consider yourself one of the lucky ones who might make it to 200k miles without any major issues.
