Default New transmission break in?

Hello everyone,

Looking for a little advice. I recently replaced my manual transmission in my 03 350z with a brand new one. The car has pretty much become a dedicated drift car at this point. I have a event in about a week. I've only put 6 miles on the transmission so far. My question is is there some kind of break in procedure that I need to do with the transmission? Or will I be ok with little to no miles on it and taking it right to the track. I did not replace the clutch at the time of swapping the trans because it is not very old. Thanks in advance.

No friction material no break-in? I'd just go ham with it

Have fun with it. If you're really concerned, pop the fill plug and just make sure the fluid level is correct. I assume fresh fluid was just put in since it's new and would have leaked everywhere during the install if it was completely filled during shipment. Can't say I've really heard about a proper break-in procedure for Manual Transmissions. Probably wouldn't hurt to change the fluid out after some proper mileage is on it, but I don't think it would hurt anything to leave it be either.

A good idea to read the documentation that comes with new CD00A.

Trans IS shipped with fluid (to keep things from corroding in storage and shipping.) It is NOT suitable to drive with. It is NOT proper GL-4 grade and must be flushed and filled before use.

If you purchased the trans from Nissan or reputable Nissan parts dealer, this information would have been prominently displayed on the shipping case and tags on the transmission.

That's correct. I changed the fluid when I put the transmission in.
