I got real lucky. I got my 04 shortly after it got to the dealer, so they didn't have time to put the sticker on. Every other Z I've seen from my dealer (either on the lot or on the street) has had one.

Great advice. What do you use to affix the new badges?

I've had my car for 11 months now. The last 8 months, it's been kept outside. Do you think it's too late for me to debadge? I'm afraid if I do it now, I might be able to see it's faint outline due to discoloration.

Exactly ! I've seen Z's in Japan where the "FairladyZ" emblem in the back was taken off and replaced with "350Z" .

Assuming you had kept the car well waxed you shouldn't notice too much difference in color--- probably notice it a little more if your Z is a dark color. Just wax the area where the emblem was a couple of times and after a little time exposed to the elements, you won't even notice the difference.

When you are removing the emblem, be sure to lift it straight off rather than "plying" it off. Plying it off increases your chances of putting fine scratches on the paint underneath. Those fine scratches can be more noticeable than any color variation.

The badges I bought already had the adhesive on the back. You just peal and stick. I bought them from Courtesy Nissan online.

I like the clean look, plus as said before, I bought a Z and I figured I paid enough not to have their ugly advertizement on the car. Still thinking about the front.

I’m surprised no one is stating the obvious; the Nissan badge is cheap looking as well as something Nissan should have left behind in the 80’s like most of the other auto makers did.

Nissan needs to create and brand the hell out of a symbol or logo that people will come to see as being Nissan. Remember the days when Honda used to spell out the name Honda and Acura until they got smart and came up with those tight looking “A” and "H" logos.

Can you picture a Benz, a Porsche or a BMW spelling out their name on their cars today?

Come to think of it, you guys are right, the Nissan logo looks like a chrome Burger King logo. I’m going to follow you guys with the Z logo, although that makes for a whole lot of z’s (4). Without a badge of some type it almost looks as if it was repainted or just not a new car look for some reason. Just my 2 ½ cents.

Yeah, my Z arrived at the dealer the day before I found and bought it. After the deal the saleman was scheduling the time for the delivery the next day and ask me if I wanted the dealership's emblem on the back of the car or a plate on the front. I told him neither and if I come back the next day and anything from the dealership was added to the car I wasn’t taking delivery. He starts laughing, like he thinks I’m joking. I gave him a hard stare and asked him what was so funny. He stops laughing and gets this look on his face like he’d just stepped into sh*t, which he had.

Oh, and no stickers, license plates, frames, or emblems were on the car the next day.

I think the debadeged look is so much cleaner and it definitely doesn't have a 'rice" look, whatever that is. I also don't want want my car to be a moving billboard for some corporation or auto dealer. Now, if they were paying me to advertise their product or services then I might reconsider my position.

i dont like the z replacement badges, and i think the nissan logo looks just fine for me. i did swap out the 350z badge for a fairladyZ and i added a nismo logo to the otherside of the trunk.

How much does Nismo pay you to advertise their product?
