Default I gotta 2008 350z that is base.

I was wondering if I got an oem steering wheel from a 03 that had the cc buttons and all that if it will work? I see the place for the cc light on the dash, but it’s mainly for a tune im going to get so I can put a couple maps on those buttons and be able to change the 2step

Welcome, but your '08 base model will still lack the cabin harness for CC. Even a Z33 steering wheel with CC switches can't make a non-existent system work.

Where are you located in Colorado?

Sorry DK, but this time you are incorrect. All of the 350z came with the full cruise chassis harness. You will just need the cruise buttons. You can buy a wheel or just buy the buttons and swap them to your wheel. You will also need the brake pedal switch. The plugs are all already there, so just install the switches and then look for the nearest open plug. With the steering wheel switches and the brake pedal switch installed you will need to get a tune with Uprev and flash a Cruise enabled flash. Cruise will then work as it should and you will have map switching on your tunes.

Source: I did it.

I stand corrected, but adding CC remains far from a plug-n-play solution.
