SOLVED - seat belt light blinking - 2005 350z
trying to remote diagnose, for my my wife whilst I am away from home. She's driving my 350z while her G35 is out of commission until I come back.
Out of the blue the Seat Belt Light started blinking....not the SRS light.
At first I thought it was the sensor that detects a person in a seat...like a faulty switch for the passenger. side.
Now I'm thinking it is a fault in one of the seat belt latch.
If I ever I am able to get home, I'll run my pretty good scanner to see if any codes popup....I think it would be under BSM...right?
thoughts?

from what I've read there could be gook in the latch or a fault in the latch...from what I understand there is a lifetime warranty from nissan on the latch .
She has NOT tried buckling and un-buckling the belt yet. I'll ask today to try that again.

I'm still taking care of my mother which precludes me to do any testing or putzing.

UPDATE: I'm home for the weekend and did some scanning and found the blinking light was NOT the seat Belt Light , rather it is the Air Bag Light.
Scanning the system I get a B1054 - Driver Airbag Module [open]
a couple of years ago I replaced the Clock Spring (an aftermarket piece) and am thinking that may have something to do with the code.
I cleared the code yesterday, and just went out to take a drive and instantly the light came back blinking.

Haha air bag light and seat belt light are like rugby and football.. I just put a fresh battery in my car after it's been sitting for a few months and my airbag light is flashing also, I'm going to do the reset with the key and hope for the best. Other than that car ran good considering it's been neglected for 9 months.

Thanks DBoyz,
I tried a few times...I got it into diagnostic mode and it gave me a code of 12 (1 long 2 short)...getting conflicting stories as to what that is actually.
Tried the steps a few more time and finally got it to stop flashing I think it WAS 5 times with 1 second pause.
crossing fingers.
UPDATE: ugh took a drive down the street and the airbag light came back on in within a few feet.
I think it is the clock spring again.

UPDATE: ordered a new clock spring about 2 weeks ago (A cheapy one). Just installed it and cleared the codes.
Went down the street that ends in a cul de sac and no issues...crossing fingers that it is fixed.
UPDATE (04/13/2022) - so far so could...whew
UPDATE (04/15/2022) - still good
