Street racing is not condoned here, the Z was not made for straight line speed period, to force it to do so is a bit nonsensical. It takes ZERO skill to do a roll race lol, what is the point? the Z is not good at it and is needs boost to compete with pickups. My DD GTI can most likely beat a Z from a roll because of the turbo, and if it can't, a simple OTS tune puts it at 280/350+ at the wheels. No HR is reaching 350tq without boost.

Straight line racing is not what the Z is about.
Brother runs a '10 Evo R, I've a chunky '08 AT GT.
40K well maintained miles (+ -) on either.
Other than wheels/tires, both are 100% stock.
On a "spirited" back road run they are near equivalents.
(Qualifier: I'm a much better driver than he)
OP should've bought a Hellcat.
Peace,

Yes im stock with a Gutted Hatch haha but also as of now no Passenger seat, windshield Washer reservoir deleted, Rear wiper motor deleted, in the process of cutting out the Speaker box behind the seats (weighs like 50 pounds) and removing all the sound deadining. Basically from behind the seats is gonna be all stripped/Gutted but entire cabin area will stay Oem.

it's a journey I decided to take, but would not do it again.
Having the GTI changed my perspective on the Z, it's a fun car but the GTI is so much easier to make power with.

You're correct. He uses EvoR in his email address, wonder why he hasn't answered my emails? (J.K.)
He drove his spouse in it to look at a new Miata for her, she was annoyed because the sales personnel initially showed more interest in the Evo than in her---
That video: looks more like blocked than gaped. But unlike some people, I don't know everything.
Peace

Funny enough the 3 cars I'm interested in are the Evora GT, Cayman GT4 and TTRS. All well into $100k new with options.
I understand Vettes are cool but it's 60s tech, pushrod V8s are dinos to me, functional but no tech, no innovation. I like refinement, and not into straight line speed or V8s for that matter, I like 4 cyl, 6 cyl, 10 cyl, 12 cyl, and a few unicorns in between but V8s are obsolete in my mind with the current tech available.

100% we built V8s in school with minimal knowledge and they ran and made decent power with nitrous and held up.
Only American cars I like are the Vettes (mostly old ones) and the GT500, but they are cars I would like to have in stock form for shows/leisure drives.
For a toy I want modern tech.

Come back to me once your gapping 5.0’s and Snack packs in an NA Z….. oh wait your gonna need Boost to do that in a little DE 🥺
