Default Nissan 350z window issue

So I have a 2003 nissan 350z and recently I’ve had a problem with my windows. I had recently took it into paint and windows were working perfectly fine, it gets back and both windows don’t work. The window switches turn on and have the orange lights but the windows just won’t work? Can someone help 😭

Maybe ask the paint shop? Could be just a bad master switch, if it was there for paint it would have likely gotten some sanding dust in the switch, coulda killed it.

You could easily check this for yourself by taking off the panel as well as the metal sheet below it. Seems like a bad window motor which is an easy fix.

Most likely they dismantled the doors to do proper paint work and someone probably forgot to plug the window motor harness back in. I've seen basic mistakes like this over the years. These guys are body and paint specialists, not mechanics. Anyway, there's tons of youtube videos and DIY forum guides showing in detail how to properly take apart your door and inspect/repair/replace power window components. Btw, properly re-tuning/adjusting your window is not a simple process and most shops completely negate this step. It is because of this that many windows never properly crack open like they're supposed to when you open and close the door.

If you're somewhat mechanically inclined, do some investigation and post back. If not, I suggest taking the vehicle to a shop with experience working on these cars.
Good Luck!

Most likely your window motor is jammed or locked up. You will have to take things apart to inspect, test, and verify.

Motor is brand new, i tested it on driver side my only guess is a ground or signal issue.

Both window controls went out at the same time? Coincidence? Or, the window lock button?

As Heel suggests, check the window lockout button. I've never used mine, making it easy to forget about that feature.

Also, if the shop completely stripped/dismantled the door to paint them off the car, it's possible they messed up the re-assembly. You may need to pull out your glass and remove the regulator + panel to check for anything binding or broken.

I'm curious, what did you use to check for the 12V signal? If you have a Power-Probe, you can quickly test & verify switches and components. I had a power mirror issue (only 1 side was working with the switch) on a 3rd Gen 4Runner and I was able to determine that all the wiring was good, the root cause of my issue was the door switch module, the inside contacts were corroded, probably from some rain getting in from the window being left cracked open at some point.

Btw, it might be worth noting that the BCM acts as the power supply and brains for driving the window motors on these cars.
Good Luck!

its only the passenger side that doesn't work, how do i test if the switch does?, when i press the driver side switch to roll down the passenger window i hear the passenger switch click, also i used a multimeter to probe it, also i dont think its went to a paint shop since the car is wrapped, i personally took the door off and replaced the entire passenger door harness but still nothing, and i made sure to try the passenger window lock and when i do i stop hearing the clicking on passenger side swtich

You would need a wiring diagram and a device like a
power-probe III power-probe III
to verify the harness wiring is good at the passenger side switch module. Conversely, you could test the switch module itself using a simple volt meter set for resistance (ohms). You can verify continuity by checking the pins while moving the window switch through it's range of positions. In order for windows/locks to function correctly in these cars, all the window/door lock modules on both doors need to be fully plugged in. Since you're only having this issue on the passenger side, I would focus on the passenger side switch module first.

If this sounds like more trouble than it's worth, then I would suggest having a reputable shop help diagnose the issue. A good bi-directional scan tool would save a lot of time troubleshooting this stuff.
