Default Repair for Footrest

The footrest (dead pedal) on my 350z had become loose and I thought that it was broken and I expected to have to replace it The footrest just pops up from the floor if you just wiggle it while lifting. There are two studs on the floor that it just slips over. Mine was not broken but the plastic parts were obviously loose. I fixed mine by putting two zip ties, one on each of the plastic parts, near the top that fit over the studs. Seems to have worked fine.

This has been bugging me on my Z, too - thanks for the tip! I took 10min and decided to do it quick. They still could have devised a better mechanism, but the zip ties tighten things up a bit.
