Default Convertible top

O.K. folks what is the deal with not using the convertible top at cool temps? I have had no issues.

I used to drop my geo metro roof(manual) in 40 degree weather going 25mph, but ended up cracking the plastic window, no other issued besides that on the fabric and since the 350z has glass /shrug

I mean being that most of the top has rubber/plastic components that are 18 years old, really hard to find and their top is already deteriorating I think most dont care much about it or are afraid it'll stop working.
